17 Days Versions

So I recently listened to The '84 Birthday Show with The Revolution. The first song they do is 17 Days... but very sped up. Yes, I know thi isn't new for Prince seeing as most of his live stuff has been sped up for "excitement".

But my question is, which 17 Days do you enjoy more, the original or the sped up "synth pop" version?

I personally like the sped up version. It's adds this fun to it that I think the original (Still great btw) doesn't have enough of.

...a fool with a Condition of the Heart...

Personally I like the version by Living Colour even though it's a little silly at times. I typically don't care much for sped-up live versions of anything. Slowing a track down live doesn't seem to bother me, but I don't need any fake "excitement" added to something I already enjoy.

///It was a live recording how would the excitement have been fake.

The crowd excitement is real, the reason for speeding things up is unnecessary as the excitement was going to be there anyway. Speeding things up to generate excitement to me is fake. Fake may not be the best word, but it feels right to me. Speeding things up has always ruined songs. I either thought they wanted to get it over with or they were trying to subtle-y manipulate you. It's not serious and everyone does it, but it seems more manufactured and fake than a pop spectacle usually is.
