AOA IS THE SHIT.

AOA nicks it for me. I think the songs are a little stronger, and theres more Prince on vocals.

HnR because it's based on a clear vision.

AOA is neither fish nor flesh, the album in between, less consequent and with the usual hodgepodge of styles (too many slow songs) in order to appeal to everybody. I'm so tired of this concept.

Totally agree.
The more I listen, the more I see HNR as a solid project.
The intro with those old citations is a statement: I'm gonna give you a pair of classic songs and then I'll go exploring new sounds.
And that's real Prince at his full.
He still knows how to write a ballad for Dorothy Parker (1000 X's...) or to make a cover looking more fresh than the orignal (This could be us), or to put the 'scala araba' inside a disco tune (mr. Nelson), to write pure, simple and silly happiness (fallinlove... once it was starfish and coffee), he is still haunted by sex and this makes him play at the top (hardrocklover), etc. etc.

Hope to see him live as soon as possible. Hey, tell him to come to Italy!

AOA and HitnRun are like siblings, you could mix some of the HitNRun tracks into AOA and turn it into one very satisfying experience, seeing that AOA has so many slow jams.

No question that AOA is better as a whole

The new version of 1000 Hugs and Kisses is better than anything on AOA. So is HardrockLover. Also, Shut This Down and Like a Mack (Rudeboy Edit) are fresher than anything he has done in the past 10 years. Throw in "Stare" which is my most favorite song he has done in a long while and I have to go with HitNRun!! Starting to like this guy Josh more and more. He seemed super nice when I met him in Baltimore. I hate to say it but he just might be the breath of fresh air that Prince needs to get him out of his plastic bubble.
