10. 1,000 Xs & Os HITnRUN phase one

1,000 X's & Os: Old Version or New Version?

I always liked an early version that I heard - I think it is a duet with Nona Gaye. Which one do you prefer?

Not a fan of the song either way. But if I have to choose the, I think, I'd go with the new one.

I've always liked the Prince / Nona Gaye version but this new one easily eclipses it for me.

2 b honest, if they had the old vocals with the new beat it would be the best.

I like the vocals better with Nona Gaye but I like the HitnRun version's beat better, the HitnRun version flows better, it's so smooth and mellow...

New one for me, there was always something I didn't quite like about the old one. Very glad it's a solo Prince vocal, I was fearful for it being redone with Hannah eek .

RIP sad

The first version by far, it's got that old school 70's feel to it, and it flows MUCH better than the new version imo.

is the old version the one with nona gaye on it? I like the new version more but i can see why people like the old version. I'd like to hear a mix of the two. If the new version kept the synth hook, the tempo, and the chord progression but had the guitar and some of the horns of the old version... something like that, maybe...

but yeah, if i were choosing one it would be the new version

New. Now I wonder what female sung vault track he'll pull out next to redo with his own vocal. I'm pushing for On Your Own.

Mainly because it is flat dead--which considering that I like Tamar's later work with him, that certainly was an unimpressive beginning. It would almost have to be an improvement.

New version by far. I love the length & the typically Prince layered vocals. Kind of reminds me of I Hate U (extended). This & HRL are the only true Prince sounding tracks on the new album & are my favourites because of it. X's Face runs a very close second tho!
Bring on Phase Two asap...

He already redid it, well partially. It's called 'Da Bang'.

The new version. I like the tempo and the groove a lot more, it's a finger snappin' jam.

chill..prince doesnt like men being front row, makes it hard to sing the ballads

They're both fantastic and show two different sides of Prince's talents.

Maybe it's too late at night, and I haven't listened to either song in a while, but... I don't understand.

This new version is utterly drooly brilliance. I love it. The Rosie version never really registered with me much. The synth lead line is one of my favourite ever.

Could be a top 10 P tune for me.

There is no "Rosie" version. The original is a collaboration with Nona Gaye.
