Just picked up my copy of "HITNRUN: Phase One" at my local Target a few minutes ago!
I had a sneaking suspicion that even though I found a stack of them on the endcap with this week's releases, they were going to scan it and tell me it wasn't supposed to be out and that I couldn't buy it yet. This particular Target is notorious for making this mistake.
Sure enough, the check out lady scans it, starts looking at it funny and then says: this isn't supposed to come out until Monday.
I am not leaving that Target without this CD. I'm one of those fans in his early 40s who won't subscribe to Tidal and wants the hardcopy CD. I leaned over to my wife and warned her that I would be shoplifitng a copy of the CD if they wouldn't sell it to me. It even had a tag on the shelf for a now-ridiculous price of $16.99 and I was willing to pay THAT for it.
You guys will enjoy this...I break out my iPhone, log into prince.org and show her pictures of the kiosk of CDs that one of you posted earlier. "Look," I tell her. "This thing is already avaialble at other retail outlets. And it's been available online for about a week now."
She scans it again and says it's going on sale for $13.99 on Monday, then asks me: "You're not planning to return this, are you?" "No way in hell," I reply. "Okay, because I have to scan it as a miscelaneous item to sell it to you, and I'll give it to you for $13.99."
After I tell her thank you five times, she mutters under her breath: "This is the same thing that happened earlier with those Prince t-shirts. I hope someone already pulled those until Monday."
Guess I'm headed back to Target on Monday for a Prince t-shirt. In the meantime, I'm set. Throwing the disc in the player now! [Edited 9/12/15 13:09pm]

The booklet is probably full of Josh in his Men In Black poses so I can understand you being anxious for it. As long as Josh is looking like a four-armed Mortal Kombat creature again, I'm sold. #TFAMKCOT You are now an official member of The Blood Clot Generation

. Might just be re-releases that have the new "licensed from NPG Records" credit. I doubt WBR would just stealth-release remastered albums, especially those two. They may well be teamsters when you look at the retail price. $21 is pricey for a simple reissue. You can still get the Prince cd new for $10 from most retailers. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well-remembered! It was so annoying too because the shop wasn't open when I saw it in the window but by the time I got back to pick it up, the city had already been flyposted and that evening before I got home to play the CD, my local post-work imbibing emporium was playing it LOUD.

I read an article - can't find it now - in my blitz of HitNRun review reading a few days ago, and at the bottom it said something like Hit N Run is out on Tidal, and in stores on CD. Didn't mention vinyl, but other reviews on the same site for different albums said stuff like out now on iTunes, CD and Vinyl. So I assumed there may not be a vinyl or even iTunes release planned (at least at the time the article was written)

I'm in Alpharetta, GA- north of Atlanta. My Target had them, I had it in my hand, went to the register- and of course the register won't let the kid ring it up. He and the manger apologized and gave me "apology coupons". I told them they better get the whole shelf full before somebody else comes in to try to buy it.

Nope...haven't seen it anywhere over here, either. I just counted my blessings and simply ordered it on Amazon.de...oh man, Prince's album releases are getting more ridiculous by the minute

I think the One Nite Alone...Live! and The Aftershow: It Ain't Over were the last officially released jewel cases (not counting Ultimate Prince in 2006).

Amazon U.S, finally has a page up for the HitNRun album, unfortunately right now it's just a third party seller offering the pricey U.K. import. Hopefully Monday we'll see the proper U.S. release offered directly from Amazon.

It's available on iTunes UK now. And they've taken the price of This Could B us (which I had already bought) off the total, which is nice.

So hopefully it'll be on US iTunes Monday morning! I'd rather iTunes than a CD to be honest, so I don't have to rip it.

Just paid for mine on iTunes UK. Got an HQ rip from Tidal on my phone already, so not sure if I'll ever listen to the iTunes one but it's nice to be able to chuck some money P's way for it. RIP
