Ugh, it's an interesting read but it's just more of the usual breathless, sycophantic pre-release stuff. You can pretty much see it was mainly written by prince. But when Welton says, “Making music is as natural to me as breathing,” you can hear his boss somehow thinking and feeling the same. that and we have literally heard prince say that exact sentence several times [Edited 9/3/15 0:45am]

Nice. And fans even got a couple of shout-outs: one from Josh, and the other is when the writer actually solicits fact-checking help from the Prince.org community . Y'all are building up quite the reputation. Got these journalists running scared LOL - just kidding. But I actually thought that was super cool of the writer to mention us in his article, showing the 'Purple Collective' some love. . Would have liked to have had more words from Prince but it was nice to have those bits of an interview. . I wants me one of those moon phases tees. For real.

I don't get his thinking on this. Yes, of course it is good for the TV show to get Prince performing and of course they would be able to sell better advertising for this broadcast and make themselves more $$ but there are benefits to the artists in playing these things too. They get promotion for their albums and then greater sales. RIP

. Of course it's idiotic. There was a fairly unknown band on Letterman's show earlier this year and that one performance just made them blow up all over the place. . But we're talking about Prince, someone who contributes a new track to a TV show and doesn't have it for sale until a month later WHEN NOBODY REMEMBERS. © Bart Van Hemelen

Again....another new interesting interview....I like the fact that Prince seems like he is opening up to the world at large...The Rakim shout out...The Kendrick love...The fact that dude is willing to let someone else handle the boards on a few tracks....I have no beef with this....

Thanks for posting that.
That was very interesting and would definitely peak my interest in the album if I was a casual fan.

. PE also got promo interviews that seemed copy-pasted from each other. .
. Hilarious. Dude learned about Rakim from Doug E Fresh. Now, AFAIK Prince started hanging with Fresh in 1998. Which is more than a decade after Rakim became well-known. © Bart Van Hemelen

. So another decade for Eric B to get known to mr Prince? That shows how connected he is to our reality.... Makes me frown, makes me wonder about him. So what about KRS-ONE? Other performers in a similar realm? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Not strictly true. Prince was playing a version of Eric B & Rakim's "Don't Sweat The Technique" live in 1994.

. But was he aware of the source of that music and did he know the source well enough? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
