Any ideas on what Prince means by Phase 1 on the HIt N Run album? Could he be hinting that more music is on the way...? Remasters/reissues, outtakes and the like?

Even if he's hinting at something or has a plan / idea it may never reach fruitiOn. Remember Crystal Ball 2. I'm fairly hopeful that hitnrun will happen but even recently we've had hints of things that never made it npg album, npgq album, free urself, the infamous PR remaster - Phase One might not even happen.
. That aside I'd love a phase two which could be a 3rdeye project - done properly this time with prince on all lead vocals. Phase one - hitnrun could be an album with a guest on each track. Hardcocklover album version is extended and sees the return of Tony M. . Phase 3 - prince and npg horny album with umber / big city / stare. Tony M tune as the crossover track a la funknroll . Phase 4 - npgq . Phase 5 - extended versions of lead singles like we used to get with the maxis. . Phase 6 - I wake up in the shower and it was all a dream. With all Prince's talk of freedom and album titles like "Free Urself", it could be this is the first of many first steps to get his music out to the public more than ever before.
He does have control over his Warner Brothers masters, now. So, "hold onto your wigs"!

Phase 2: Never play any of these songs live, except for one or two 10-second snippets during the sampler set. Phase 3: Complain about Tidal's marketing. Phase 4: Find another company to sucker into a one-time deal. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

Prince has as many announced projects and ideas that never materialize as ones that do, so I wouldn't expect phase 2 of anything tbh - usually it's a miracle if phase 1 gets out the door. | |

So that's why we don't have the PR remaster -- since Prince doesn't have control, it must have been WB's decision to pass on releasing it and we've been blaming Prince "no control".
There is little information out there on his agreement with WB or Tidal, you're learning tidbits here and there like the rest of us but you just like to act like you know for sure. | |

Josh said they create something everyday or something in November in that paisley park tour maybe it could just be more and more music that was 8 months ago and some of these tracks have been played before like shut it down, million dollar show, this could be us is a remix maybe theres more cooked up I'm feeling a bit fammy™ | |

My take is that "phase one" goes with the "hit n run" concept. The "hit n run" shows are like basically one show in a city, be there or miss it, next day we're somewhere else. . I think the concept of releasing an album on streamin only means that it's not gonna be there forever, maybe a few weeks, then it's gonna either be replaced by another album that would be "Hitnrun Phase 2", or it could also mean that the album is moved to another streaming service and there will be as many phases as streaming services, until a potential release (physical or digital or both). . Except Prince will get bored with the concept 2 weeks after the album appears on Tidal and there won't ever be any phase 2. . Just my 2 cents but I think it's overlooking the obvious not to put the meaning of the title in relation with its unordinary way of distribution. I might be entirely wrong, though. The easiest thought would be that Phase 1 is the release of the new music. Phase 2 is the concert follow-up. Pretty basic and the most likely scenario. Sorry folks....not much to see here...move along. Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see

He's had a number of tours called hit and run, right? Maybe he's doing something similar with his albums. Like, in a year or two he might release a brand new album called hit and run phase 2 or something? Like, all his albums will be called hit and run phase (number) from now on? | |
