Just an idea: Prince doesn't seem to like tours anymore...

Why not do a Fathom Event, Live From Paisley Park
All his fans would be able to experience a concert together from their local movie theater, and Prince can rest his royal head on his own pillow at home afterwards.

Do you think that could happen?

I have to believe price wise it advantageous vs. taking a show to one city at a time.

or he can do a Vegas residency lol That's a perfect situation for artists who don't like long, grueling world tours.

His stint in Vegas was actually pretty great. Easy to get to and a lot of fun. Of all the times I've seen him, the aftershow at 3121 is my favorite.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

i say get a brand new band; preferably young funky ass musicians from MPLS who can also play other styles. make new music. have weekly residences at Paisley. or do the club thing around the world he likes so much. but 3EG is/has gotten stale...like the drummer

That would require him to share the income with other people
& that's the problem.

That's a great idea. I would even settle for another celebration since I missed the other ones. sad

I suspect those were Mani's idea back then though.

A huge tour is hard and you have little freedom for its duration.

I'm afraid that unless Prince needs to replenish his finances in a major way, we won't see a full, traditional tour for a while.

He's 57. I don't like taking out the garbage and mowing the grass and I'm only 48. Can't sya I blame him for only doing it when he has to.

Prince likes having new mountains to climb....at a certain point in time, been there, done that --- there's nothing (even money) that can make you WANT to do the same ish again.

It would be exciting for us but maybe not so much for him. I think these smaller shows are probably alot more fun FOR HIM.

What NEW MOUNTAIN is there for Prince to climb?

I'm 52 not famous have a decent amount of relative well-known-ness in my own profession, and I have to constantly find ways not to repeat myself and to find new ways to challenge myself to stay VITALLY interested, and I mean vitally interested in ways that moves you forward to keep seeking and experimenting with what you know, how you know it, and what you can do with 'it'.

As you mature 'more of the same' isn;t necessarily that motivating any more....
