If an artist does a cover song with original lyrics , but changes the music completely...how does that affect the royalties etc..??

The same applies to Prince's recent cover of The Waterboys' Whole of the Moon that he has played live recently. However, Prince's bass-driven version is totally epic imo

There is no Fleetwood Mac-song called 'Shadow And Chain' and I don't think he performed 'The Chain' either.

there is a performance he did known as shadows & chain that incorporated the chain song . it was excellent song from what i recall he performed it live i heard it on release 3121 las vegas vol 2 . it was the highlight of it . It was sought of a spoken /rap over what is usually the outro of his live version of cometogether
