The Housequake and Jughead Connection... Amazingly, they share the same beat. I just barely heard it today! Listen for yourself. During the chorus on Jughead, the underlying beat is the same cadence as the percussive beat in Housequake. Why, Prince...why?!?! Walking alone in the dark, I see nothing u see

It's the underlying rhythm. I've been posting this observation every now and then for years here, and there has been no response or comment from anyone. This is the first time I've seen sign of someone else noticing it.

Music isn't the problem. It's the lyrics. "Get stupid. Get stupid" Prince had sophistication in his music up to that point. This signaled a steep downturn. "Getting busy y'all kickin the Jughead." Wtf is the Jughead first of all? And the phrasing is so trite, worse than your average rap song. "Cold housing the future." Wtf? Just a few examples "Love & honesty, peace & harmony" | |

There are an endless stream of songs before and after WDC and Kiss that have that same beat. That is not a Prince original. | |

Diamonds and Pearls was released when I was 10 years old, and even back then when I first heard "Jughead", the drum beat immediately reminded me of "Housequake". 2 years before, I thought that the drum beat to "The Future" reminded me of a speeded up "Mountains" |

I think "cold housing" means turning your thermostat down in the winter to save on your home heating bills. Tony M is known globally for putting money-saving tips in his raps. You should hear him spit some rhymes on the benefits of an electric water heater over a traditional one. | |
