I wonder who where Prince's music teachers in High School?

I wonder did they think, hey this dude is cold... He's going to be a Star one day? cool lol

Liz Jones in her book Slave to the Rhythm, says on page 30,"Jim Hamilton, who had played with BB King, was the music teacher. Hamilton got a lot of respect from Prince. Mostly, though, Prince would start playing his own stuff and the teachers would get mad."
That is all I can tell you. Maybe others know more.

Jim Hamilton was the music teacher in his high school?

I wonder if anyone can post a casual question without getting a attitude filled response!?!? Where would we be if we didn't feel free to ask a question to another country person instead of launching a research project?!

I went to North high in Minneapolis in the late 80s. It was an Arts magnet high school. I had a choir and Piano teacher named Dawn Allen who had taught Prince.


It seemed to me she just hated him. I'd try to talk to her about what a genius he was, and she would get almost defensive. My impression of him through her was that he was a real shit in high school. She almost had anger about him. Like she thought he was a fraud.
