THIS IS GREAT! I agree with whoever said its got a Bootsy Collins vibe.... very much so, and omg he cuts us off just as we're jonesing for the guitar solo!!!!!

Such a tease - Prince don'tmake me beggggg....

I need moarrrrr!

[Edited 7/1/15 6:15am]

I agree! This song is now my official summer jam.

He has me all giddy and goofy and excited for the official version, then the extended version, then the remixed version, then the live version, then the boot out takes....

He's got me feeling feeling allll ---- frisky lolololol

The voice, and the scream is intact and still runs through me in all the right places tinkerbell

Yeah, it's amazing isn't it? Being playing it all day. Has been giving me the excitment of his 93-95 material.

I actually really don't mind the lyrics. Or the song. It confused me when I listened to it this morning. But it finds it's groove, like the backing drum beat with the guitar actually screaming in the background is damn good. At the very least you can appreciate the production on this one. I don't think he's ever done a song that sounds like this....

... It's a damn good song! Is it the same musical and lyrical content of Adore or Joy in Repetition... No ofc not, but it's a good song. A new PRINCE song in 2015... It sounds damn good.

About the lyrics... Hell if he wrote and released KISS in 2015 y'all would be trashing that as well, lets face it.

Just appreciate the fact he is still putting out NEW music regardless... 35 years later.

AMEN! Couldn't agree more! I don't know why people feel he owes us another Adore or Joy In Repetition. I mean if that happens, we will all be happy. But this is Prince experimenting in 2015 and it's actually fucking cool cool

it's possibly a bit of evidence toward a possible album, versus just a single.

it wouldn't make sense to tease one song on itunes and then release a free

(completely different) track on soundcloud if you were promoting a single,

and not working to build up some hype for a future album.

although, we are talking prince here, so promotion could be anything or in

fact nothing at all. lol

No, I'm not a fam. I'm not someone who desperately tries to convince himself that Prince's output of the past 20 years is just as good as his 1980s classics. I'm not someone who proclaims Prince's latest brainfart "fantastic" or a "masterpiece", only to rescind such proclamations six months later. It was really funny to see a lot of famz declare AOA "his best in years", "his best since TGE" or even "his best since D&P" while dismissing Prince's output of the past years.

Woiuld you please list 5 songs that he has released in the last 20 years that you actually think are good?

Plus working out has helped her & prince . Especially when Madonna "fell" a few months ago...

A lot of 1980s superstars took care of themselves and did not abuse drugs: Bruce, Tina, Lionel, Janet etc

But A LOT haven't! Unfortunately most they're not here anymore.....Also the ones that are here sound NOWHERE near as good vocally as prince does, or still able 2 churn out albums or singles as quickly as prince still does 4 OVER 35 YEARS...

[Edited 7/1/15 10:21am]

What a load of sanctimonious rubbish - really! There are plenty of artists, tee - totals and otherwise who still sound great after a long career - Prince ain't the only one! And "most" who have taken drugs are dead? Utter bullshit - but back it up, if you like. You can be anti-drugs if you like, but mis-information doesn't do any good.

Loving the new track btw - hope to hear the full version somewhen soon smile

The one with the same title that closes the Another Mother Further album. And since Prince quotes this title in FunkNRoll and played Baby Love live, he MUST know about this. I don't know if MF was the inspiration, but I just can't help comparing the two tunes.

Agreed. This is cool, modern and interesting and definitely sounds like a continuation of the AOA vibe, but with extra guitar. And some great screams too. Man, that super-high one sent shivers down my spine.

Hope we get to hear more like this for the next album cool .

Loved it. Crazy guitar solos and hard thumping bass. There's nothing else that sounds like it today. But just when the song really starts kicking in, it ends. Prince can be such a tease sometimes. sad This is a track that needs to be heard live.

I like this! Not overproduced and funky as hell!

First song in a while that is not overproduced! It almost sounds raw like back in the day--that's why I dig it so much! I love it when he 'dumbs it down' for him because it brings back his sex appeal... the overproduced stuff is just pretty sounding to me

I think these are the lyrics:

It’s nothing for the rocker and nothing to condemn

Because in between this waking life, REM

She walked into the party and told me to live up to her dreams

We’re about to get it started, turn my guitar up…

So I can make this woman scream

It’s time to check your cell phone, red bull and petron

Ain’t no rapper trying to be a singer, I’m gonna make her moan

Sade and Babyface, R&B ain’t got no place

Just put some rock on and better cover your ears…

Because you’re about to hear a woman just scream

Scream

She said if I don’t really get to kiss you, I’m really gonna make a scene

I said Do u want me to be another rip in your jeans?

That’s when she ordered strawberry, Chocolate and whip cream,

I turned my guitar up and this woman screamed, screamed, screamed, screamed

She likes to party hard, she’s a hard rock lover

party hard, she’s a hard rock lover now

She likes to party hard, she’s a hard rock lover

party hard, she’s a hard rock lover now

Here the obligatory post complaining about the terrible lyrics that a 5 y/o could write.

Agreed. The lyrics don't ruin the song for me, but this could have been epic if he took a little more time. Sometimes his lyrical poetry is majestic on songs I don't like as much and here it's a little childish on a song I love... but I love how he sings the song and his voice sounds terrific..

Can't get out of my head the way he sings 'She likes to Party Hard, She's a Hard Rock Lover...'

The song sounds like a rock guitar version of "Drunk In Love" especially in feel and bounce of the groove.
