Hello...the song

No one on here mentions the song, Hello!

I love the shit out of it!

The way he sings it. The British voice he does...

The funk of it...the extended version.

Thoughts...

I like it and the extended version is great.
I've always wondered about Prince doing the photographer with the British accent, maybe some of the press on that night were British.

.

"Hello" is one of my all-time favorite Prince songs. Awesome. Love the energy, words, vox. Revs me up every time I listen to it. BANGIN' tune. And Prince got real on the lyrics at the end of the extended version:

.

4 U words are definitely not shoes
They're weapons and tools of destruction
And your time is boring unless U're putting something down
What would life be if we believed what we read
And a smile is just hiding a frown?

.

Like thedance, I also understood the song contained some references to the "We Are The World" imbroglio. Below are lyrics referring to P.'s agreement with Bob Geldof that P. would not participate on WATW but would instead contribute "4 The Tears In Your Eyes" to the project (and send Sheila to the WATW recording session to represent him):

.

I tried 2 tell them that I didn't want 2 sing
But I'd gladly write a song instead
They said okay and everything was cool
'Til a camera tried 2 get in my bed

.

And below I pasted the lyrics addressing accusations levied against Prince that he wasn't down with USA for Africa's cause. But he had already shown his support of local charity by holding canned food drives at concerts on the Purple Rain Tour:

.
We're against hungry children
Our record stands tall
There's just as much hunger here at home

.

Feel free to correct me on any details.

.

yeah man, there are some interesting comments by fans of this song.
I don't know of any other Media/Event song responses by Prince to an event that perfectly nails it like this one.
