Lets dive in here shall we? What are some P songs that solidify a moment or phase in time for you? This is spurred from a paper I wrote in college about the soundtrack of my life and how Prince songs would be woven in with things like heartache, death, love etc

I'll kick this off:

When Doves Cry was my awakening, if you will, into adulthood...watching Purple Rain and the God interlude bridged the gap between 13 year old me and 14 year old young adult me.

I listened to Sweet Baby on repeat when a boyfriend dumped me....went the next day and got a bar of music from that song tattooed on my hip.

Dream of being proposed to while Forever In My Life jams in the background

Having a first dance at my wedding to Adore

My cross country convertible roadtrip where I jammed My Name Is and 3 Chains on blast until I couldnt hear anymore

And you???

"Something In The Water " (1999) came out when i was breaking up with the first girl i ever fell in love with...every lyric and scream mirrored my emotions at the time....even the way the hihats were programed mirriored the frantic sense of urgency i had about her....still hits me the same way to this day...

"My Love Is Forever" ...i told my wife about a month ago to carefully follow the lyrics because thats how i feel about me & her....even b4 her, this sounds of thios song always moved me so deeply, that i have said on many occasion, that they can play this song at my funeral as they lower me into the dirt...i never had such an emotional connection to a song, as i do with this one
