Here is the list of all the marks I could get out of the great podcasts they have put out over the years.

Remember these are just marks, and it is very wise to hear the whole podcast.

Peach and Black guys, you can tell meor correct any of the marks are wrong. I will post the list and then add notes in another post.

Notes

1. Marks are listed largely in order of albums being released, rather than Podcast being broadcast-ed.

.

2. Various times split marks have been given like "I give it 7 or 7½", unless they have confirmed the mark afterwards like "I give this album 7½" I have average these marks, so such a mark is 7¼.

.

3. Captain loves to give marks that are 0.1 of a mark (So do I)

.

4. Some albums are affected by extreme marks, such as Art Official Age which got marked very low by Captain (4/10) but very high by Toejam and Playa, and MC also spoke highly of it. Same for Batman which was marked high by all but MC and the Marks MC gave for bad albums

Newpowersoul and the Slaughterhouse are lower than the others significantly.

5. MC acknowledged he had not really heard Exodus before the podcast.

.

6. MC retired from marking in early 2013, so it is only 3 marks from then on.

.

7. For You was marked low, but with the proviso, only based on the music that came after it, as a stand alone album it would have got more likely a 7. Compared to Prince's later output, this album is very lightweight. The marks for Prince, were more average and represented a great improvement from For You, but still a long way off the next 8 albums.

8. Dirty Mind was spoke of quite highly by all Peach and Blackers, but not rated. I would have guessed they probably would have given it marks around the 8 to 9½ level.

.

9. All the albums from Controversy to Lovesexy have attracted very high marks, all 8 or more. (Except Black Album)

.

10. Most 1989 to 1997 and 2004 to 2014 albums scored average marks of between 7 and 7.50, indicating Prince's ability to play it safe and offer competent and solid rather than innovative albums.

11. Love Symbol and Gold Experience stand out as better 90s albums, especially Gold Experience which pretty much compares with the 80s classics

.

12. The 1997 - 2003 period stands out for the amount of mediocre and sub par albums, most albums averaging a low 6 or less and many solo marks of 5 or less. Only the Rainbow children survives this murk and MC marked it low (Thanks MC not my favourite either!)

13. Crystal Ball was only rated by Captain, no one else gave it a score. Indications are that scores around 7 were likely.

.

14. 3121 was only ranked by Toejam who gave it 4 stars out of 5 and MC who gave it a 7, I converted it to 8 out of 10. However this was a very early Podcast.

.

15. Slaughterhouse was the lowest ranked album, with an average score of less than 5, however of officially released albums - Newpowersoul came in dead last (I don't really count For You, as it was earlier and the others were after much better work had come out).

16. 3121, Lotusflow3r and Art Official Age standout as the best of recent times.

.

17. Lovesexy got the highest overall mark, a nearly perfect 9.90/10, followed by SOTT, 1999, The Gold Experience, Purple Rain, Lotusflow3r, ATWIAD all taking out the 9or more out of 10 list.

18. Albums not rated include Kamasutra, C note, news, One nite alone, although discussed, Proteges, Vanity6 and Apollonia 6, The last 3 Time albums, 3 first Sheila E albums and Jill Jones if u guys are interested, also Goldnigga.

19. One nite alone was discussed, but the albums were not rated, B sides, hose favourites, but again the album not scored.

.

20. Guys please feel free to do any corrections and that includes names, is it Playa or Player? And also if you want it taken down.

21. Sentimental marks were identified by Captain who mentioned fondness for Diamonds and Pearls and Symbol, MC for TGE, Toejam for Rave. Mainly as those were the new albums when they became fans.

22. First Podcast about Planet Earth and/or Indigo nights were January 2009, last Podcast of Purple Rain was April 2015, although they alluded, parts had been recorded earlier on.

Well we won't agree about Batman's quality (until the end of time, people will believe it's inferior to Lovesexy, which is still a valid opinion), but even with "filler" such as Lemon Crush and Orion, I'm surprised it's been marked lower than Plectrum Electrum (which is pleasant but boring and widely shunned by the org as far as I can see) and MPL Sound (one of the worst records he's put out, EVER). Oh well. To each his own.

I know what you mean, when an album first comes out you think it is the greatest thing ever like Lotusflow3r and AOA and then a year later, you are like "What did you see in that album, that is so great".

I understand what you mean about the marks being fun, I am stressing that people need to listen to the podcasts, and of course now if you want to reflect you can change those marks. Mainly as I know Lotusflow3r is more okay than great and Captain must be regretting placing NewPower Soul and the slaughterhouse above that wonderful Art Official age album from last year.

To me Art Official Age is the best since Gold Experience and it is greater than many think. Glad the rest of you liked it though. But why he did he have to put the affirmations on it?

Thanks for your work! I enjoyed looking through these stats. Brings back some memories. I'd forgotten what I'd given most of these albums.

Not really.. I still don't like AOA much at all and have barely listened to it since we reviewed it...

Still way too many mid tempo yawnfests for my liking..

As average as NPS is, at least they're upbeat tracks for the most part...

And I would still say Slaughterhouse and Chocolate Invasion are better than AOA.. in my opinion of course..
