I don't think there are too many official collectables. But by far one of the most affordable and official is the little Symbol pendants you buy at his concerts.

I got a Symbol necklace in the 90s, don't remember if it was at a concert (Act I, Atlanta?) or from 1-800-New-Funk, but, instead of the metal chain yours has, it has a black leather strap, and, it's gold (colored) instead of silver....

Does anyone still have a catalog from 1-800-New-Funk? I have a couple from the mid-90s. They just made me want more... wink

I had the Get Off one-sided pressing but an old girlfriend pilfered it. I heard that was pretty rare.

What about the purple Purple Rain single? Was there a purple vinyl version of the LP?

Of course the most sought after item is a recording of "Wally".....

There was purple vinyl for the Purple Rain album and single, and also the When Doves Cry single.

And you can not get more official than a concert ticket. Even if it was made by the promoter rather than Prince's marketing crew.

.

Following that are inserts from albums and photo sleeves inside albums. My For You record has these

.

.

The last one meaning the record is likely a Purple Rain era pressing and no doubt these would have been inserted in all his back catalogue of albums to move a few more in the midst of Purple Rain Hysteria (Possibly more copies of For You sold in 1984/85 than they did in 1978). Its over 30 years old and officially collectable

.

And official collectors versions of songs, this picture cover was obviously designed to be collected rather than played.

.

What do you guys think?

I love the love symbol pendant and wear it like I wore my dog tags in during my army days. Would love to have a love symbol tattoo but I have low tolerance for pain. lol

Of course - I think I have them all. I remember going to the record store and buying them again as I had already bought the regular black vinyl versions. My friends would laugh at me because they didn't see the future collectible value of the items and the forthcoming immortality of Purple Rain as I did.

im aware of a lot interesting stuff in the MJ collecting world like a 2005 Neverland invitation for fans who were outside the courthouse, a HIStory statue numbered of 1000 from 1999, ticket to a private 89 madison square gig, various HIStory coins silver, bronze gold and mixed, speed demon single etc.

but im not really aware of the cool stuff in the prince world, I know about the Rave In2 CD which just went for a £100 on eBay and a my name is prince record send to warner execs anything else? i dont think prince has endorsed many collectibles i suspect

Of all my collectibles, I love things from the Glam Slam club the most. Symbol belt buckle and keychain. Match books, shot glasses, etc.

Wouldn't it look pretty gross after 9 years?

.

Rarest collectable might be a Lotusflow3r tshirt by the sounds of things lol

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Why would it look gross? confuse

It might have a little "bloom" (the term for a white film that covers chocolate, a result of the cocoa butter separating out), but that's it.

I also have a Lotusflow3r tee.

I just thought, that if it was an official Prince product, it would be cheap and nasty like the perfumes and the Lotusflow3r t shirts which apparently faded after 20 washes.

.

I was thinking the chocolate would be Chinese imitation made with Palm oil instead of cocoa and that would go off in a few weeks.

I'm looking to get all 6 colors of the NPG Hockey Jersey. Right now, I have three of them.

Just before NPGMC closed you could get Rave In2 really cheap, which is when I bought it. I should have bought more lol.

"His Name Was Prince" is a somewhat rare item.

I think the most valuable single item I have is maybe the German gold disc of ATWIAD which can go for £150.

A lot of the stuff from the old NPG shops floats around.

The programs from P and Mayte's wedding, you see those around from time to time.

I have a black and gold XL Jersey.

I've got the hockey jersey in purple and gold, got it at a show in 1998 I think (Brixton, maybe), and a 16 track Gold Nigga CD (and 2Gether cd single) from a 1993 show. I realise that the CDs are reasonably rare, but had no idea the hockey jerseys were sought after.

I have a few of these symbols lying around. I believe I have the necklace-sized one and the keychain-sized one, but I always wore the keychain-sized one around my neck! lol They were not expensive at all, just mass-produced cheap metal. Still, they get attention.

.

I bought necklaces for my girlfriend (now wife) and myself back in 2004 to wear to the Musicology concert. She didn't really want hers after that, so I mailed it to another Orger.

.

I also had the gold-tone pin with the purple "jewel" in it that came out right around the Love Symbol album. Not sure what happened to that one.

I just saw a guy wearing one of these at the Detroit Hit N' Run. Brought back memories.

.

There's a page is the large-format Emancipation lyric book where I believe the entire band is wearing them.

.

Remember the white BRRRR winter coats?

I had a Symbol keychain for a few years. I stopped using it because I was afraid it would rupture my nuts. I mean, just look at it.
