That doesn't mean they'll approve just about anything. I'm sure their contract also involves certain conditions like "three albums released = 1 less year of WBR having control" and thus it is in their interest not to put something out.

I doubt they'll let Prince just do whatever the fuck he pleases, and I would expect each release to come with conditions and possibly negotiations. (Except for a charity single like "Baltimore".) Don't expect WBR to give Prince as much leeway as they did with TMBGITW. Note how his bitching about WBR stopped once AOA/PlecElec got announced: I wouldn't be surprised if such a condition was part of that deal and that there are penalties when Prince decides to run his mouth again. Note how all his talk about Judith Hill quickly faded.

He may have recorded many of the songs well before Baltimore, so where do you get the sequence 1) now that he had all the promo Baltmore 2) he's doing party music?

You heard snippets so you don't know if it's all "party music" and most of the album was likely recorded before Baltimore, so this is just you seeing things the way you want to see them, nothing more.

He once stopped an album release when they were SHIPPING PHYSICAL COPIES and paid millions to do so. But he was unable to stop his own Twitter account from posting links to three short snippets he uploaded on YouTube?

If he cares so much about the issues surrounding Baltimore (which BTW was just one of many, many examples), why isn't he following up on that? D'Angelo released an entire album centered around that theme, yet here's Prince mere weeks later and he's back to party mode. Did I miss something, were all those issues now solved?

So here's a simpler explanation: Prince doesn't give one fuck about anything except his own damn self, and he used Baltimore to enhance his profile. Hell, just look at the crappy song he released: does that sound like he genuinely cares?
