None of the above. A Prince instrumental is like a Jimi Hendrix track without guitar or a Miles Davis track without trumpet.

I'd love to hear some more instrumental music from Prince. I agree that Gamillah is wonderful and I was truly humbled by his 2003 albums....so much so that I don't think I could narrow it down to a single track.

--

Although I'm not a big fan of the Madhouse albums, I do hope that they don't get short shrift when he finally gets around to remastering and reissuing his 80s catalog.

1. Alexa De Paris.

2. Venus de Milo

3. 2 Nigs United 4 West Compton.

"Alexa" is up there with my all-time favourite Prince tracks actually. The other two, less so.

I like most of them to be honest, I wish he do an Xpectation or a NEWS more frequently - I could handle one every few releases.

Same here.

Yeah, I love Graffiti Bridge movie, so what? ''Oooooooooooh Montreal, say it!''

His instrumentals are wonderful. The one's I'm feeling the most are--

1. "Alexa De Paris"

2. "Arboretum"

3. "Eleven" (Madhouse)

A boot called "U gotta shake something" its 60% instruments, but Prince says a few lines at the start in a Morris Day pimp voice and he sings in a Morris Day voice, but the instrumentals dominate the voices. I know its not strictly instrumental, but it is great. It is one of the Flesh sessions I think.

.

Otherwise I go for Madhouse 24's the Dopamine Rush suite (21 -24) and commercially released, you can not go past Alexa De Paris. I also really like Visions off Dream Factory.

.

The finest though, again a unreleased track from 1983, is called climax which is a cool synthesiser work out that sounds like you are flying through it. It appears on Numeorus boots and dates from the 1999/Purple Rain era (It may have been a track off the unreleased second Vanity 6 album - not sure) - The Instrumental parts on Vibrator are cool too.

.

There is also a blow your ass opening instrumental part on an 8 minute version of 100mph that appears on the Work set, it has Prince vocals instead of Brownmark, the first 4 minutes, are electric guitars and synthesisers.

My vote is for The Love Theme from Purple Rain it sounds like a professional score on par with Danny Elfman and John Williams compositions.

if you mean thelove theme when prince walks up on apollonia while
window shopping... I must agree. But I did hear that prince did not
have a part in scoring the movie other than his concert scenes. I dont kno,
but its a beautiful peice of work. I was listening to it today.

FATHERS SONG gets my vote. I also love venus de milo
