Prince's fitness level

So I'm wondering. @ different points what kinds of workouts did\does Prince do? Pre 1990 to me it looked like he was weight lifting. No idea about now but he use to have nice lats. So does anybody know? Has he ever talked about his personal fitness & nutrition? Over his career it looks like he worked hard on his physique, I'm curious as to what he did & still does.

I have always admired certain celebrities for their dedication and discipline when it comes to physical fitness, including Prince. I´ve been working out since the mid 90s, maybe even a bit longer, and when I took the occasional break I could tell that something was missing.

From what I know, Prince often hit the gym during the Lovesexy tour and obviously while he was shooting Purple Rain, though the dance lessons may have helped his physique, too.

-

If you watch the Diamonds and Pearls VHS homevideo (or maybe it was the Gett Off VHS homevideo that came out in 1991) you can see a barbell in his Paisley Park office.

One (cheaply made) German biography once mentioned that he was very pleased with the workout machines and weights that people arranged for him to use during the German leg of the Lovesexy tour in 1988.

-

He also used to have a doctor backstage to administer vitamin b12 injections during shows, and of course he´s mentioned his healthy diet in many songs. There´s also a rather strong anti-drug and clean living message in many of his songs, although he also admits to drinking occasionally (or experimenting with substances, whether in songs or in interviews).

-

The man is pushing 60 and still looks amazing. No fat belly, no bald head, great physique, great stamina.

But some middle aged, out of shape folks here on the org expect him to do splits, jump from his piano and dance like there´s no tomorrow.

As far as I´m concerned, those gimmicks aren´t really necessarys anymore and , regardless of all the things we may like or dislike about him, I for one am glad to see him healthy and alive and in such good shape in this day and age.

I still remember the summer of 1984 and how much I loved When Doves Cry when it was released, and here we are in the year 2015 and Prince is still doing his thing and looking great and is healthy and alive.....and we, of course, too.

We should all take a breath and be grateful sometimes.

Prince always looked pretty fit to me. Although during the mid 90s he was pretty thin which was worrying.

I think it's a mixture of him going to the gym, the on stage dancing and we all know he loves Bball.

He also must have a nop notch doctor as well.

It doesn't hurt that he eats healthy:

"As he grew, some of his favorite meals were sauteed Spinach with olive oil, frsh garlic, salt and pepper. Cream of Brocolli Soup with Sherry, and pasta. Specifically, spaghetti that he would wash it down with orange juice (yes, orange juice). But one of his staple dishes is eggplant. Below is a recipe for a vegan eggplant lasagna that is fit for a King, or even a prince."

I'm a professional trainer and I'm 51, and I can attest to the fact that as long as you keep moving you can maintain yourself like Prince does. He could NOT do what he does right now if he wasnt in excellent shape. As you age SLEEP is the most important thing, thats when the repairing happens.

But he's never stopped performing really. I'd guess he needs some supplements like vitamind d, and some glucossamine/chondroitin for his joints, and I'd bet he moves around regulalrly outside of what he does onstage.

Resistance training is important to maintain muscle mass, and flexibility becomes much more important after a life onstage in heels -

We know Prince doesnt sleep much, but now it does show a little when he's tired. When we see Prince looking a little drawn in the face you can tell he hasnt slept much smile well at least I can tell.

Im going to guess he has a dedication to fitness like he does to music - the better shape you're in the more music you can make more often. Its not a physically passive thing music-making ....you NEED your body smile

Indeed, that helps a lot for fitness. But previously you need another drug. This might be a good one, in moderate doses:

Well...

There's no talk of doing another 21 nights anytime soon.

He isn't using propofol as far as we now know, nor anti-anxiety benzodiazepines, lorazepam, or midazolam.

So he could be fairly healthy if he is still regularly recording, rehearsing, etc.

Who is doing the cooking these days?

Where does he actually live? (not at the Park?)

They could tell how healthy he is w.r.t. eating and such.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
