Least favorite Prince song on each album Part 2

Diamonds & Pearls – Jughead

Finally an easy choice. This song is rubbish. With all the outtakes that still haven't been released (for example I Wonder, Uh Huh and Good Man) how the hell did this monstrosity get released? Hands down his worst composition. I could go on but you get the point.

- The Sacrifice of Victor

I know Prince is trying to share deep lyrics with us in this song but there's a disconnect somewhere I don't know where. Maybe everything else on the album was so adventurous musically that this song sounds normal? Perhaps if it were on the Gold Experience that might have helped?

Come – Orgasm

Definitely one of his most underrated albums IMO. I never listen to Orgasm anymore. When I was younger the sexual part of this sound was exciting, now I have no use for it in my life.

The Black Album – Rockhard In A Funky Place

Not one of my favorite Prince albums and I don't listen to it much because most of the songs sound the same. Rockhard is my least favorite because I find myself skipping it whenever it comes on.

The Gold Experience – Pussy Control

This is my second favorite Prince album. We March was my least favorite song here but of late it has really grown on me and with all the police violence lately it has become more relevant in my life. The profanity in this song is over the top, it's like Easy E wrote the lyrics for Mr. Nelson. I don't mind profanity hell I curse as much as anyone but coming from Prince it's off putting to me.

Chaos and Disorder – Dig U Better Dead

Not a particularly strong album and we know the legal reasons why. Most of the songs here are 3 stars at best this one barely gets one. Wish it never saw the light of day.

Emancipation – Disc 1: Mr. Happy Disc 2: Sex In the Summer Disc 3: One Of Us

Mr. Happy is one rap away from being Jughead part 2. I actually enjoy Sex In the Summer but unfortunately it is on the superior 2nd Disc, the best disc in this collection. I hate when Prince does covers but at least they are good but his cover of Joan Osbourne here is atrocious her version is way better than Prince's.

Crystal Ball – Disc 1: Acknowledge Me Disc 2: Interactive 3: Make Your Mama Happy

This album is so frustrating. There are a few diamonds, a lot of okay songs and too many duds. The 3 songs listed are the ones I have given up on, I'm never listening to them ever again.

Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic – Everyday Is A Winding Road

Again Prince covers I am not a fan of, neither is Sheryl Crow. I use to avoid this album a lot but as of late I'm really digging it more, all the ballads here are top notch.

The Rainbow Children – Wedding Feast

Prince really took a risk here and boy did it pay off. I wish he would do this more and stop playing safe. Every track here is top notch I play this album insistently. Wedding Feast doesn't really do anything for me and the album didn't need it for the narrative. I know it's short but it's 54 seconds of annoyance. If you have a copy of this on vinyl contact me I want to buy it!

Diamonds and Pearls - Jughead, just wack, wack in every way, all that is bad about Tony M

Lovesymbol - Arrogance, all this shit about what niggerman want to be a star, my version has it.

Hits/Bsides - Pope, new jam with bad rapping

Come - Solo, this is self indulgent with cream basically, he should cause me to have emergency dental work, as listening to it loosened all my fillings. His balls are on antennas here.

Black Album - 80s albums, see it in part 1

Gold - We March, cash in civil rights ode out of place on this masterpiece

C & D - A great album overall, probably I rock therefore I am, because of the bad ragga and rapping (Condoms and Bacardi, lets party). Get rid of Steppa Ranks and Scrappy Doo and its okay.

Emancipation - Disc 1 - Mr Happy, Disc 2 - Lets have a baby, Disc 3 - Da da da, scrappy doo makes Tony M sound like NWA era Ice Cube lol

The Truth - Don't play me, okay but too grim

Kamasutra - All of it, lift music at best

Crystal Ball - Make your mother happy - terrible oddity that should have remained buried

New Power Soul - Shoo bed ooh, although most of this album is underpar

The Vault - The cover as the music is great, but that CHEEP ASS Photoshop budgeta version 1995 is dreadful.

Rave un2 - Undisputed, one of the greatest potential songs and pairings turned out to be the worst. This whole album is tragic though, lots of plastic everything and watered down saccharine sound.

Rave in2 - Hot wit u remix - aarrgghh!!

TRC - The Rainbow children - Horrible playing and Darth Vader voices, about 11 minutes too long lol

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Okay, now my turn. Again, I still actually like most of these songs, but I also don't have these albums carved into my memory like the earlier ones, so I don't have as clearly defined opinions. I'll see what happens as I go along.

Diamonds and Pearls - Jughead (though Walk Don't Walk comes close)

prince - The Flow

Come - Race (even if it were good, I can't forgive the fact that he seems to think there's a "start" in Monopoly)

Black Album - When 2 R in Love (the worst song on TWO albums!)

The Gold Experience - We March

Chaos and Disorder - I Rock, Therefore I Am

Emancipation (Disc 1) - We Gets Up

Emancipation (Disc 2) - Emale

Emancipation (Disc 3) - Sleep Around

Crystal Ball (Disc 1) - Tell Me How U Wanna B Done (really unnecessary, even in comparison to the other remixes)

Crystal Ball (Disc 2) - Da Bang

Crystal Ball (Disc 3) - Get Loose

The Truth - Circle of Amour

Kamasutra - I actually like this album, but I've never considered the tracks as separate entities, and I'm not listening to it right now in order to do this list, so we'll skip it.

The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale - When the Lights Go Down

Newpower Soul - Freaks on This Side (there's 2 or 3 songs on here that made fairly little impression beyond chants, so choosing this specific one might be unfair)

Rave un2 the Joy Fantastic - Everyday Is a Winding Road (for Larry's "Do you love"'s, for the lyrical changes, for the lack of musically interesting innovation, for the "Everyday" instead of "Every Day")

Rave in2 the Joy Fantastic - Tangerine (Extended) - I restricted myself to songs or versions that were unique to this album, so I couldn't do Silly Game. Tangerine is my favorite from the original album, but the added section adds nothing, and in fact dissipates the effect of the "real" version's brevity.

The Rainbow Children - The Everlasting Now. I've got lyrical issues with several tracks, but on this one the music doesn't overcome them. Wedding Feast is way better--and even if it weren't, it's not long enough to hate; the Everlasting Now feels as long as its title.

CharismaDove

Diamonds and Pearls - Jughead

Even this song is "OK". But we didn't need to hear Tony take over an entire song.

Love Symbol - The Sacrifice of Victor

This song is weak compared to the other hot jams on this album. I'll even forgive "Arrogance" because it's sandwiched between the classic "Damn U" and the fun "The Flow" (plus it's 1 minute long lol )

Come - Race

I usually re-configure the album in my iTunes... I can't stand its released form.

The Black Album - Dead on It

I know, I know, it's a hot groove. Even though Prince was never an amazing rapper, he hit a low on this song. It's just too annoying

The Gold Experience - We March

Such a pointless song that could have been replaced by a large number of superior tracks.

Chaos and Disorder - Right the Wrong
I like Prince acoustic, but country western is too far

Emancipation 1 - Get Yo Groove On
Tired

Emancipation 2 - Joint 2 Joint
This song is even lamer than I thought originally, re-listening to it

Emancipation 3 - One of Us

I usually like Prince's covers but he ruined this song

Crystal Ball - 18 and Over
Wasn't he getting tired of these kind of songs by 1998?

The Vault - My Little Pill

This was hard since even though none of these tracks are masterpieces, all are enjoyable and consistently good

Rave - Rave

He had nearly 15 years to tinker with this song since recording it, and this is how it came out?

Rainbow Children - Rainbow Children

I was never able to sit through this song, way too long. Album is artistic genius, though.

Maybe eye do, just not like eye did before pimp2

Thibaut

Diamonds & Pearls - Jughead, Daddy Pop (sound dated and too wannabe gangster)

Symbol LP - The flow (too wannabe gangster, also applies to my name is prince and other songs but they are better)

Come - Orgasm (Pointless and awkward)

Black ALbum - Dead on it (Kind of hypocritical after what came later)

Gold Experience - We March (that NPGMC live version was better)

Chaos & Disorder - Had U

(Right the wrong is bad but it's charming in a so bad it becomes good kind of way)

Emancipation - Damned if I do, Mr. Happy, We Gets up (weird songs and not good biggrin)

CRystal Ball - Movie star (don't kill me), an honest man (boring), Cloreen bacon skin (too long and boring, imagine what other songs could be included instead of this), Get loose (terrible techno house, whatever it is), P. Control remix (not really that different but way less good), Make Yo mama Happy, The truth has quite good songs but some weird lyrics and too much sound effects, the whole kamasutra album is boring. The melody from the title track is the only memorable thing about it

Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic - actually this whole album grew on me,

baby knows, hot wit u are quite banal

Old Friends 4 Sale - My little pill

Rainbow Children - This one is by far the easiest= wedding feast

On the art 1 thread, Bonatoc made up a CD of the lesser jams mostly chosen from For You to Graffiti Bridge, it actually looked quite good, but could you imagine a CD from a list of these unpopular filler tracks.

.

1. Jughead

2. The Flow

3. Pope

4. Orgasm

5. We March

6. Dig U better dead

7. We gets up

8. Mr Happy

9. Da da da

10. My Little Pill

11. How u wanna be done

12. P Control

13. Make ur mother happy

14. Freaks on the side

15. My Little Pill

16. Everyday is a winding road

17. Wedding Feast

mad

A quick way to turn anyone off Prince forever, would you know anyone who would pay for that mess?

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
