New: We are blessed to live at a time when

Hi,

I've lurked a while here but just had to comment that listening to the latest output of Prince makes me glad I'm exposed to his music. Prince is a class act and certainly if the only music I had to rely on was what is played on the radio currently, don't know what i'd do.

Thank you Prince!

cool

I feel we are blessed to live in a time
when so much music is so easily accessible.
Imagine a time when there was no such thing
as recorded music. Scary!!!

please don't use terms like "blessed" because not everyone agrees with the meaning of that word.............and when you say "we".....speak for yourself...........it's the same thing as asking me not to use the words "fucking retarded" when describing stuff that goes on in the world........it could be offensive

Very good point. Too much modern music on the radio is amateurishly written and produced.

Intersting choice of things to complain about on this site.

I second that emotion, Prince has trancended his critics and his own many flaws by rising above it all and focusing on being the amazing musician he is. Hard to believe some people here think he's only in it for the money.

Sorry I have been on here a lot recently due to illness (and forgot to not take this place seriously)and thought there was some religious meaning to the thread title. If I am wrong about that, then nevermind. But if I am right, read this because I am not alone in my dislike of this phrase. Google it and see for yourself.

I am blessed to live at a time when'

there is so much good music again!! I bought 14 CD's in the past year and before 2014 I only bought 6 in 5 years. I am so happy that good music is coming back and I hope it continues!! Even though I did not really like Prince's new ones it was still a GREAT year!! I rank 2014 up there with 1984 and 1991-92 as the best years of music history for me. I look forward to what 2015 brings!!

Yes. He's not the only one, you can really distinguish the sound of strings, wood and skins versus electronics, that's all I'm saying...sound and vibration, that's where its at! Artists should get paid for their product, everyone else does.

If Beethoven had released his remasters with additional unreleased symphonies, there wouldnt have been the need to collect so many bootlegs. biggrin

Okay, I've looked into it - and it's nonsense. Study etymology and I'm sure you'll stop using 9 in 10 words...

However, it IS interesting to study etymology and become aware of where many of our words or expressions come from.

Yes InternationHeartThief I totally agree with you! It's a great time to be living with the funky P doing his thing and sharing his music with the world. I have always felt that his music is a blessing (I like your choice of word btw). Thanks for keeping things here on the postive tip. This place could sho use some more love!

lol lol And this is where people thinking they have a right to not be offended will lead us. It's all circular, soon we would not be able to use any descriptive words without offending.

Words only have the power we give them and can only be as offensive as we allow them. Sticks and stones, and all that. wink

it is interesting but i guess most people are sheep and will use words like the ones listed in my link that was something like 'the 5 most annoying facebook braggarts".............i think it is better to use words like "lucky" but hey I guess words like "blessed" have taken on many meanings..........I assumed it was the religious one so maybe I was wrong

Just like Blessed, the word Luck/Lucky has religious/spiritual definitions too [the Roman goddess Fortuna]

.

This is actually a good topic, wrong forum/thread though. Start one in P&R I think it's interesting
