I presume the mods just wanted to play it safe.

If anyone wants it I'm pretty sure theres plenty of people out there to supply it now.

I was just enjoying discussing the tracks. The intent of the thread wasn't for people to ask for them.

I think due to the nature of the thread it was natural that lots of people were going to ask for links to download it. It's out there now and lots of people have it so it shouldn't be too hard to get ahold of anyway.

Too bad. I was about to upload my album art for it.

well, I guess this is the new outtakes thread then.........really enjoying the Bonnie Raitt track and wonder if he tried to get in her drawers too

My unsubstantiated theory is that he's gotten busy with every female he's ever worked with. That includes Mavis Staples and the lady who vacuums Paisley Park.

All right then... I hope either the other thread comes back or we can get a discussion about the individual tracks going again. But it would be nice to have the information back about tracks and their history.

It was a crappy outtakes release anyway. Most of the tracks were old news and almost all of the previously unheard tracks were just samples. Big disappointment.

47 tracks or so and all I took away from it was Computer Blue with hallway speech which was previously only in mono as well as Baby I'm A Star studio version, Prince's versions of I Guess I'm Crazy and Ain't No Place Like U, Bonnie Raitt's I Need A Man plus the remixes of Trust, P. Control, The Holy River and Hot Wit U. But that's something, I guess.

It's so hard to believe If It'll Make U Happy was recorded for 1999. I really would like to know for definite who's singing the backing vocals. Sound like Andre, which would be pretty cool.

What do we think as regards to the all the fadeouts? The original collector recieved the tracks with the fadeouts or they were edited further down the line by some asshole?

That's my only complaint--don't want more snippets, I want entire songs in good quality. Waiting on Blast From The Past 3.0.
