Aside from the chopppy editing, I'm not sure what everyone's problem is with the Rave DVD. I like it a lot. Alladin is sort of a mess and doesn't really capture the spitit and nature of those shows very well.

problems -Larry Graham and the blue space suit ,oh and Larry Graham !

x2 on the LG

Typical Prince "fan." Issues have nothing to do with the music.

The filming is lame but I don't care as I didn't watch it much: as with all P's live releases I've ripped the audio and listened to it as a record. There I was always pissed with the fact that for some UNEXPLAINABLE reason the volume varies from track to track, though. It makes no sense at all.

Besides those technical issues I've never understood why so many fans hate this release. I find it a nice complement to the ONA Live boxset as it features a quite different, complementary tracklist from the audio double CD, and a much laid-off atmosphere overall, and 1+1+1=3 is one of P's best released live funk jams ever!

This tour was amazingly documented with 4 releases no less! ONA Live documented the core setlist, Aladdin documented some of the regular tracks that had been left off the first release and did so on video format, ONA Aftershow documented the aftershows and C-Note went as far as to document the jam sessions from the soundchecks.

Altogether those releases could make a formidable boxset and I wish every tour would have benefitted from such an exposure in official form.

The soundcheck was hilarious as there was a sloppy drunk chick in the front row. She was trying to get his attention & P said something like "You need more funk & less drink lady" They played a sweet ass funky version of Xenophobia with P on Bass if I remember.

Sometimes I get the Alladdin DVD out just to play the part that Prince makes the Ozzy Ozburn joke and makes a epic face at the mic. Know what I am talking about?

I still don't own this DVD ...I was so disappointed with the "rave un2 the year 2000"DVD that I'm kinda scared to buy the live at Aladdin one

If it is that serious, you lack the resources or the temperament to even be a Prince fan so just forget it all.
