I was surprised it's right on a 4-lane divided highway. I was stopped at a red light on MN 5 to turn left onto Audubon. The GPS said to turn left and my destination was on the left. I just happened to look out the driver's side window and realized I was practically sitting next to it. I thought it would be nestled into a little grove of trees or something more private.

Back when it was built, it was just a two lane highway. The area was not nearly as built up as it is now. Just saying.

Weird to think you could drive by at any given time and see Prince as you might see a neighbor outside their house.

I'd recommend going if you can. Since I was up there anyway and it was so close, I HAD to go. My circumstances were like the 'perfect storm'. Even though it's not open to the public, there's something fulfilling about just being there and seeing it. I'd love to go up for a celebration or show.

Thanks for posting the photos, very cool indeed. I've never been & doubt I will but it would definitely be cool to go. Nice shots of paisely park too, never seen soem of those angles. Glad you were able to end up going to see it.

It was a fun experience, for sure. And just think how close I was to that vault!
