You know, the cost of good speaker systems has really gone down in the past two years. You can get pretty decent stuff and keep it under $500 dollars. I upgraded all of my speakers and headphones over the summer. Best decision I made all year. You don't realize you're listening to crappy sound until you buy good quality speakers. AOA sounds effin great with the exception of the Breakdown. The depth of sound on some of the tracks is better than he's achieved on anything since TRC imo.

Change it one more time..

No, all that material has been postposed to Episode X.

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I have AOA on Mp3 via iTunes, but I thought it sounded alright - not what I'd call thin at all. Although I would like to hear it on vinyl to get that subtle warmness that vinyl seems to add into the mix!

What you call "thin and tinny" is his musical statement on the digital age.

Art Official Age is a great musical journey. If you don't get it, you don't.

...and some defend the title track cornyness as a "parody" of modern music too. People are bending over backwards to defend this mediocre album. To me it just sounds like someone so completely out of touch. [Edited 1/23/15 18:54pm]

Whenever a new Prince album comes out, on many occassions, I've seen people around here say things like... "I'm trying to let this album grow on me".... like they're trying to force themselves to like it as if they'll eventually get some sort of reward in an afterlife in Purple Heaven one day. Hell, either you simply like something or you don't.

.

As for a parody, I don't hear any humor in the album making fun of modern music. It sounds to me like a serious attempt at slumming, trying to fit in with, and gain modern music fans' acceptance.

Andy is a four letter word.
