Blazin'? I can't remember which company it was Cox or Clear Channel...but EVERY SINGLE promo spot they did for EVERY SINGLE station they owned...it was required that they refer to the music they played as "Blazin' R&B." Now I hate the term as cookie cutter Corp America BS>

Too bad it wasn't a better song. Or one that hasn't been out for a year. It might have done some good.

Somebody with limited knowledge of promotion, marketing, and how the business works would easily be able to tell that Prince botches promotion on a historically disturbing level. Name a Prince album after 1993 that had great promotion? Yeah, that's what I thought.

Even with the somewhat weak "New Girl" episode, he couldn't even think of putting out Fallinlove as a download until well after the show aired. It was released as a download something like 45 days after the show.

If I had it in me to type a 400 page essay on how Prince screws up promotion, I would. But I won't. Most of those who think Prince understands and does great promotion are in the group that kiss his ass on his every move. I just try to be honest. The Lotus Flow3r disc is some of his best work in his career, and even though MPLSound was weak, and Elixer was just ok....the 3 albums for $12.98 went nowhere...Prince ignored the existence of the albums after 2 weeks.
