Digital Garden

Digital Garden... One of his most beautiful songs that could've been but wasn't...

I really like it too! Even attempted to make a deephouse remix of it ten years back, but never came further than a promising start. Should try it once more maybe, although perhaps it has been done til death already without me knowing about it! wink

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

In my opinion, this song is quite possibly the worst song in Prince's entire catalogue. It's just so New-Agey and creepy. The weird monosyllabic chanting near the end scares the shit out of me! Whenever I hear it, I have visions of a tribe of bloodthirsty cannibals preparing to eat someone. eek shake boxed

It's an instant skip for me whenever I spin the TRC album. Even the "dripping water faucet" opening fills me with dread.

Haha, I can understand how the song makes you feel that way! lol Although I love the song I agree it could have been better without some of the elements like the chanting. That is what actually triggered me to make a remix of it.

Personally I never really listen to lyrics in songs a lot, so I am not put off by bad lyrics luckily. For me it is all about how the music sounds and how it makes me feel. And I just love Prince's falsetto on this tune, and the electronic percussion and the instrumentation. Towards the end of the song things get shoddy indeed, totally agree.

Love it. One of Prince's most interesting releases from the 00s.

Trippy @ss song, that's all over the place, I'm a big fan.

.

I can see how some woudn't like this gem, it totally seems unfocused, it almost reminds me of AOC, how disjointed it is, but that's kind of why I like it. The guitar work is pretty awesome as the many other sounds going on in this.

If only he had more current songs out there as this one. Probably my favourite song on the Rainbow Children.
