I initially thought--Yay Prince is not finished with this project yet! But it looks like Warner Bros's doing more than Prince/3rd Eye Girl. They must feel like "Well shit if Prince won't do anything for this record, lets pull together scraps from the SNL performance and edit it into a video!" Somebody there is still committed to this project.

Glad to see the video though. It's well done. Way better than anything Prince's current in-house people have done with his recent "videos."

This lyric video was not produced by Warners, its only hosted on their youtube, it was produced by NPG RECORDS.

I think there are likely many comps laying around PP like this. Someone from Warner's probably communicated that Prince was supposed to release a vid, and he told them to bug off by giving them this, uh, random low budget thing one of his minions had on a laptop somewhere. TBH, I'm pretty sure fans could put together something of similar quality, using the SNL footage. Maybe with a better theme.

None of the recent videos have been any good, but it almost looks like this was released as a finger to his fans.

That's how I interpreted it too.

I would have preferred a real video instead of the studio track played over the SNL performance with screensaver effects and text.

The video still doesn't show up if I search on Youtube itself--although a google search gets several articles on the video's release (with links therein) and the actual youtube link. So I have no idea what's with the stealth approach--but it certainly doesn't seem like the best way to get it heard or seen.

the video was exclusive to billboard for 24 hours thats why it wasnt PUBLIC. thats how you drive users to the premiere partners page. trust the folks know what they are doing as they've been doing it for YEARS.

I think its sad that Prince still hasn't released a proper video and lead single for AOA, I don't count Breakdown since the single wasn't pushed at all. It shows how litte he actually cared for the project and all his focus was on Plec. I like this lyrics video but I don't see the point in releasing them

Apparently a video poster can make the video unlisted so that it doesn't show up in searches, and can only be viewed if you have been given the direct link.

That seems like a pretty strange way for WB to promote a song.

Isn't it obvious...WB DON'T want to promote this. They don't want to waste anymore money on an already flopped record, than they have to. Besides, it may be because Prince don't want this video to be made public. Do you see any media publications talking about this? The only one I see is Perez Hilton's website, and even he was super-cryptic about it.
