I'd rather have release tons of archives of live per4mance and rehearsals with them A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

What's the point? Purple Rain with Wendy on guitar or Donna... Still the same song. He's played his hits from the Revolution days so often with so many different musicians that getting the original band back wouldn't make much of a difference.

8 figures for him, also some for the others. A lot of convincing, prodding and threatening. In short: never. First have the girls visit europe again sans Prince. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

I agree with others who said he has worked with so many other musicians after that era, and performed songs with them from that era. I think somehow that 1984 era still typecasts him in present day, for older fans of his music, but that image of the 1984 Prince is sort of far removed from younger fans born after 1995, unless they watch the Purple Rain movie. It wouldn't be the same band 30 years after. The wooh is on the one!

this again? how many threads are there for this? that was 30 years ago. and it was only a 3 year period. the bands that came after were better anyway. i wouldn't want him only playing songs pre 1987 with old people (people who look way older than him). that's old.

I think it would take a huge payday for Prince to do this, and even then he would probably not commit to a longterm project. A large one-off concert, probably.. . I'm torn on a Revolution reunion. If it happened out of mended relationships, a true "connection", then yeah I'm all for it. I'd take any of them over any band he's had since the Sonny/Michael/Tommy NPG. . But, if it happened purely because of money being dangled around, no thank you.

newsflash: Prince is old,too surrounding himself with young musicians (3rdEyeGirl) doesn't make him 'young' again.Bruce Springsteen has no problem performing with bandmembers who are his own age.

Anyone who can say what difference would it make just don't get it lol Sure Paul McCartney has an amazing drummer right now, but who wouldn't want to see him jam with Ringo??? The ones that actually helped make the music what it is to begin with. No one is asking for the Revolution to be his full time band again but for fucks sake just play another show or two with them, show all these youngsters what they missed and just don't get now.

Disagree. They have the ability to push him to make better music. Lord knows he needs it.

More reminders of how great Prince used to be? No thanks. Watch the old footage and smile. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I don't think they should reunite, at least for nostalgia reasons. Reuniting with The Revolution for a show or two will make hardcore stuck in the '80s happy and make Questlove, Toure and other "Prince experts" wax poetic ad nauseum for another book. If The Revolution recorded a new album of new music with no intention of trying to replicate the sound of the '80s and wrote music that was relevant to who they are now, I'm all for it. But just to see them go down memory lane, hell now. 3121 #1 THIS YEAR

First of all, Bobby probably isn't healthy enough for a long full scale tour. And his quality of drumming can't possibly be close to what it was for more than 45 minutes. A better idea would be for Prince to simply have an all-star band from his career, which, of course, he would never do.
Guitar: Wendy, and Miko or Dez Keys: Lisa and Dr Fink Drums: John Blackwell, maybe Sheila, and maybe Bobby Z for a few songs Bass: Sonny T Horns: Eric Leeds, Atlanta Bliss, and maybe throw in Greg Boyer on Trombone.
Prince is closer to 60 than he is to 50, and time is running out for any kind of real reunion. Maybe a one off show or something, but Prince is more focused on keeping the band he has now until he fires them to showcase whatever band he hires in the future. Prince is just as likely to hire a band where everybody's first name is Tracy, as he is to hire on actual musical ability.

If there was a reunion. I would not want a full scale tour. Those can be boring. I would like 'small club' shows I would like them to finally do Roadhouse Garden, I strongly believe the material that was to be on that album, Prince technically can't release on his own. Probably all very collaborative stuff. Bobby can easily handle some good small club shows, like the birthday shows and such. I think they would be much more interesting Keys Lisa & Fink Drums: Sheila & Bobby Z like on the 6.7.1985 show Bass: Brown Mark (this is a Revolution show) and pull in Andre if possible Horns: Eric Leeds Atlanta Bliss & Eddie M

Let Prince be Prince. Anyone who knows Prince well lets others do thier craft with very little limits. I mean those he works with like photographers, painters and even other musicians. He often does one takes and moves on, imperfections and all. What does this have to do with the Prince and the Revolution? My point is Prince lives and creates music in the moment. After that phase is done he's moves on. Everyone here knows his view on the past, just leave it there. I mean it might be interesting if he himself wanted to do it because I am into his expression of his own music. But you can clearly tell he has no interest in reliving the past. And in eyes he doesn't need to. His new sound is very different and I am glad it is. Like he has said about so many of his past projects he took the Revolution as far as he could at that place in time. So I am not interested in seeing them unite now. Prince is a very different musician then he was back then. He has evolved. It would be asking a divorced couple that ended very bitterly to get together to take pictures for some new holiday cards. Kinda weird.
