He can different styles, but he plays them in his own way. His own style is recognizable. This is quite a jump from what his recognizable style is.

Downloaded--probably won't have a chance to hear it today (I've got several hours of family and turkey activity)... but I'll give it listen.

I'm hoping this is legit, but the quality sounds so much better than any other piano rehearsals such as Eavesdropped in Intimate Moments for example and there is no vocals which is unusual. On the other hand, Wednesday is such an obscure piece (I only know of a 51 second and a 91 second samples out there) that even many people on Prince.org may not have heard it, plus whoever dated this 1983 had to have done some homework to know that Raspberry Beret was first recorded in 1982. If it was faked it's a smart fake. I think the only way to know for sure is if either of the "Unknown" pieces later turn out to be uncirculating pieces such as Katrina's Paper Dolls, Velvet Kitty Cat, Money or some other song from that time period.

100% Fake one....this is not Prince in style...rythme. ..piano feeling touche. .silence between notes etc...if u have good ears this will be an evidence! [Edited 11/27/14 22:49pm]

Not to contradict what seems to be the general consensus, but it does sound REAL to me

I don't think it's him, but it sounds great, so I'm keeping it anyway. I can hear where the player tries to sound like P, but doesn't quite make it. It's the work of a big fan, which you can tell by the distinctly Princely touches throughout. A nice medley either way. Could it be someone from the Prince camp or just someone trying to dupe people?

Prince is super tight on piano.the one who plays on these fake release is not Prince. Prince would never miss a beat in terms of rhythm which isnt the case with this piano jam

In an interview with a former engineer, he said one of things he loved most about Prince was that he never made a mistake. That's not to say to say he played perfectly at all times and never missed a beat, but when he did make a mistake he would explore it. He embraced missed beats and wrong notes to see where they lead.
In other words, he did make mistakes. He is human. If he's playing and exploring songs, rehearsing, practicing, messing about, whatever, then you can't just say "Prince doesn't miss a beat, therefore this is not him", he does miss beats and does make mistakes. It's just not often that we get to hear them.

it sounds pretty cool nothing to get excited over

If Prince wasn't intended on this getting out and he was just recording it to hear himself and try new things then he would certainly make a mistake.
Everyone makes a mistake. You think he came out of the hole perfect? You think he's not better on bass guitar now than he was 20 years ago?
Magic does not exist. Talent is hard work and/or mental problems. That's all it is.

Is there an official name for this one? Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

That's the exact same thing I was thinking. If this IS from 1983 then U're gonna C me was around back then? Nice to listen to though, evein if it isn't Prince. Not A Newbie, Just Reinvented

Yes ,everybody can make a mistake.Prince can hit off note but this isnt Prince. Princes piano playing is full of rhythm and this recording is so flat in terms of rhythm so i find it funny we even debate this. Compare it to real 1983 piano sessions uyou know the one?

Now that u guys mention it..................I'm thinking that it isn't Prince. Prince uses silence and spacing in a certain way that I can't really describe. Also, there seems 2 be a few missed notes that I can't see coming from Prince. That said, I really do like the playing here though. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.
