A quick question about the black album vinyl

Hey everyone! I just wanted to ask a question about the black album on vinyl.

I'm aware that the album was obviously heavily bootlegged in 1988 and proceeding years after that, but I'm a little confused about one thing. Was it ever officially released in 1994 on vinyl when it was released by Warners?

I only ask this, because I have seen it on vinyl in a record shop near me for about £30 and I was thinking of buying it - but I'm concerned about the quality. I don't really want to pay £30 for an album that may be bootlegged and sound shit.

Thanks biggrin

Edit: I just want to make it clear to the mods that I'm NOT going to buy it if it IS a bootlegged version, so I am not looking for advice on getting my hands on bootlegs!

If I recall correctly it was even released in different colors, peach for example.

Check here, possibly:

In particular, see the 'Fakes' section.

ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

What record shop is selling it? I assume it's in Manchester?

I got two sides... and they're both friends.

Nah I won't, honest smile Just curious. I seen that you saw a Come vinyl as well from that other thread. Presumably the same shop?

Nope, two different shops. Actually, the guy who owns the shop that the black album is in I'm pretty chummy with, because he used to work at the record shop that has the come vinyl.

I'll tell you where the Come vinyl is though, it's at X Records in Bolton smile
