What Time Is It? (1982) is funkier and a sleeker, slicker album. I perfer the live versions of the Dirty Mind (1980) songs over the much softer demo tape album sound. As Prince said in his May 1981 Amsterdam interview on the Dirty Mind tour, "The sound on the new album isn't that good. It's direct but not anything that would win any awards. The stage show is louder and harder edged, which makes it more aggressive. I like to do guitar solos, and I also have a great guitar player (Dez)."

Goodnight, sweet Prince.
