The audience recordings were great, the soundboards are even better. The shows are not my favorite ever, but hearing a crystal clear version of "The Breakdown" WITHOUT hearing Star Wars Stormtroopers blasting their laser guns is a real joy. The album version is so overproduced it makes a great song just a good one...

As far as the shows, if you make a best of all 3 soundboards, you get one really nice show. I just edited the files to get one 75 minute cd best of. I'm warming up to Big City, but it's still just a ok song to me.

Like all others, these are floating around out there on the internet...I just got it last Friday morning, and haven't listend to all 3 of them. One of them was originally mono, and I don't have the stereo replacement yet, but will get around to it.

Like I said, not the best shows ever, but you can make one nice cd of them. The 3rd Eye Girl show is a lot better than the NPG one, since Prince is actually singing without the background singers getting in the way as much. Worth checking out.

Haven't listened to show 2 yet but show 1 was a lot of horns and too many backup singers singing. Loved show 3, listened to that one first.

I'm also not a fan of Big City, I don't get the excitement about it.

But more important:

.

Now that this happened again, will mr Prince ever return to Montreux?

BTW is this an instrumental or with P's vocals?

I love these shows. NPG shows have too much of the backing singers but that has been the case for a long time. Nice to finally have a 3EG soundboard

I would say Prince sings on it, but the girls (Shelby & Co) are a bit overwhelming. Kind of like everytime Moutains was played...I could barely hear Prince's whisper vocals. I hear him more on Big City than Mountains live, however.

Shelby sings on it? LOL No wonder P' s vocals are drowned out. I heard this when she performed with him live.

I don't get it. Every old website is down and the torrents are dry. Maybe the web has moved on and I got left behind! lol
