AOA... old music?

Has anyone noticed what a great conversation starter wearing a prince tshirt is? I was at the grocery store and a man started a conversation with me because I was wearing my " welcome 2 chicago" shirt. He broought up how he couldnt wait to see what old music he was putting on the cd, now that he is back with WB. He thought he read somewhere that this cd was all older produced music, is there any truth to that?

Old? Maybe older, but not really old. A couple of those songs (in my opinion the more interesting ones), must´ve been written during the "Welcome 2....." tours which started in 2010 because they are duets with Andy. And some of them were already posted or released in some form.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I think he had an album pretty much ready to go at the end of 2012/early 2013. A bunch of songs got played by some DJ at some club he was appearing one night. That's where we caught our first "glimpses" of "Breakdown" and "Ain't Gonna Miss U" among others.

Right around the same time he became enamored with this 3rdEyeGirl thing and shifted his focus to that and some of those songs made their way online while he worked on the shiny new object of his desire.

It's likely that the some of the stuff from AOA and what was released online from 2012 (or so) and 2013 were from whatever this batch of songs was that came from that period. some of them are likely newer, though. hard to say if things like Funk n Roll originated as songs for 3EG or as Prince solo projects. with no credits in the CD it's hard to be sure what started as its own thing before Josh got his hands on it or what they came up with together.

But for what it's worth, I think your friend probably was referring to the Purple Rain re-issue and whatever may end up as bonus material.
