my understanding and usage of metaphor is accurate and you know what I meant. your ability to read a sentence and answer my question is questionable. prince is ignorantly insulting blind people in this song in an effort to create a metaphor for something else. That is the bottom line for me. prince implying that a bunch of blind people are idiots who play tic tac toe and have no idea where they are placing their x and o makes blind people seem very stupid .. trying to say it is a metaphor for something else has nothing to do with the insulting picture p paints of disabled people .. as if they would be clueless .. sure he is trying to say someone else is stupid by comparing them to blind people

I was listening to a radio broadcast yesterday with an economist that did reseach on how purchasing habits are influenced by who's selling, and it said that men are approx 90% more likely to buy from an attractive woman than from a guy or unattractive woman, and that if the attractive woman also happens to be blond she will outsell the non-blond. Women apparently are not affected by the attractiveness issue in a statistically significant way though. So while it isn't right in a lot of ways to rely on looks, if you are someone selling anything, even if you are making solicitations for charity, statistics show that looks matter, if you're selling or appealing to men.

People who have no clue what Prince has been up to for the last 20 years will like the vocals on that record.
Meanwhile, Mary J Blige supposedly can sing.

Personaly I dont think Prince pulls off the vocals on that record at all. He's never been a good rock songer IMO, even though I love his harmonies and falsetto. I would have liked the record better without his vocals.

I don't know if she's the worst. Hannah can hold a tune but her voice doesn't sound nice, there is no emotion, it's flat. I thought her singing on Whitecaps was not that good but when I heard Aintturninround that was even worse. She is just yelling at about 16 seconds into the song and my body recoils everytime I hear it.

The music on PE is quite nice but Hannah's lead singing and the silly lyrics let it down.

She sings fine in the context of the album. Besides, I'm sure Prince will set them free as a three piece an a year or two.

Take Me With U would not sound the same, and it sounds great. The whole bridge intensity is brought by her. Her "I'm aaa" in Sex Shooter is sexy.

This is representative of a peculiar notion of what a good singer is. Many people seem to think it has to do with the quality of the instrument (the voice itself) rather than what the performer does with it. Thus the ridiculous praise some people get for having a big range, but consistently giving pretty much the same performance over and over, regardless of the song or what it might actually require.

...and Sheila E. may not have the most interesting timbre, but she delivers enough to be qualified as a good singer IMO.

I wish ppl would get over themselves. It's an enjoyable album and Prince is in a band called 3rd Eye Girl, so he let other members of the band sing on 2-3 tracks.

Maybe it's time to worry about the more important things in life...
