So what should be the next singles for each album (with a music video)

Admitting prince and WB want to do things seriously there should be at least 2 more singles associated with a music vid for each album. Which songs do u think are the most likely to attract non-fans'attention and promote the albums?

.

- Plectrumelectrum, without hesitation I'd say Stopthattrain and Boytrouble: both are fresh, radio-friendly, sound contemporary and are likely to please people in a "Chelsea Rodgers" fashion (this one was a favorite among my non-fans friends back in the days!).

- AOA, I'd say Clouds because it's a radio-friendly R&B groove that's very catchy, and The Gold Standard because it's a killer groove that would put the dancefloors on fire.

I still think Fallinlove2nite should have had a video and been added to AOA, it was catchy as hell!

.

Opinions?

RODSERLING

Almost every tracks of AOA are radio friendly. It's obvious that FNR remix is nothing else but a radio dedicated track.

If I worked at WB, I would have been very embarassed to pick one track of PE to make it a single. STOP THIS TRAIN and BOYTROUBLE are not radio friendly, they sound like uninspired track from 1995.

PRETZELBODYLOGIC would have been cool in the sixties, but nowadays ? Rock is not radio friendly anymore in the US. Your idea of selling a so-called "rock album" by releasing raggae tracks is weird eek .

For AOA I would have picked :

- ART OFFICIAL CAGE with aN high-tech video

- WAY BACK HOME could be a million seller

GOLD STANDART and CLOUDS are interesting choice too, anyway.

The albums are out. They have sold what they are going to sell. No single is going to get any airplay or streams. Releasing a single now would be a monumental waste of time and resources.

Rebeljuice

LGC Redux as a single to PE and Ex's Face (Xess Space?) for AOA. I know, they aint on the albums, but this is the kind of thing P would do. smile

Only if we can get a clean version of the original without the girl yapping over the beginning of it

I'll pass on anything done by this dude or anyone at Purple Music here. I enjoy the remixes of 2nite because it's a clubbing song and it made sense to turn it into a more dynamic club track, but there's no musical logic into turning R&R Love Affair or Dance 4 Me into house tracks (or Way Back Home for that matter), and the result was total musical disaster IMHO lol lol

.

The problem of remixing is that the remix should somehow give a new life to the song without betraying its original spirit. R&B/hip-hop remixes of Dance 4 Me could have been great for example (I have a harder time seeing what could have been done to R&RLA, given that it's a rock track in the first place, though I kinda like the Remix7 of it but it still doesn't make much musical sense in the end).

Yeah, I was taking the piss, I thought it was obvious. Take the best track on AOA and give it to the ruiner.

I see a video for time. Short scenes of each doing everyday tasks like running bath water for the splash part, and prince feeding his birds at another point. Both in somewhat pensive and somber moods. flashback scenes where they r together are also intersped in the phone call scenes, of both happy and somber and angry times as well as other random occasiions(eating breakfast maybe?) Andy is on a cell with a Bluetooth headset and prince is on one of those older desk phones, or maybe one of those trimline phones, but with a crazy long curly-cord. Through-out the course of the vid, Andy's battery meter is running low and flashes red and prince curly-cord is quickly running out of slack until push comes to shove and it causes a terminated call at the end of the video with both parties frustrated with furrowed brows.
