I agree it's a beautiful song was taken aback when I first heard it. Inspiring my artwork at the moment so thought I would share [img]

God NO! No guitar lick needed the song is perfection personified!

Exactly. It's brilliance lies in the fact that it retains its sparse, simple structure. No guitar solos, no smart-arse bridges, no big drum beat to detract from the feel.

Oh, such a major problem in so many songs--in the mid nineties I had a moment in almost every song it seemed when I went "Are you kidding me?" It's not as frequent anymore, but it's still often a problem.

Ditto. Bridges leading into bridges into bridges. It all got a bit silly and unnecessary.

Love this song!

Its the ONLY song on the CD that sounds full.

The rest sound hollow. Not much to say.

This one is haunting. Would fit on any other pree 1996 album.

Is the heartbeat taken from Emancipation's Sex in the summer?

If so its his unborn childs.

Everybody's lookin 4 the ladder, it's in the garage

When is the last time you heard a new Prince song and were miscerally moved by it's sheer power?

For me, the first time was one day watching MTV in 1982 with my dad and mysterious, curly-haired being sang this beautiful, sensual song about a red car to me...

Another time, one morning in September 1984 when LET'S GO CRAZY woke me up from my cheap $65 cassette/radio/alarm clock on the local radio station...

Then again, when I heard SIGN OF THE TIMES for the first time...

More recently a decade ago when I heard I LOVE U BUT I CAN'T TRUST U ANYMORE....

It's been awhile but WAY BACK HOME did it again.

The melody, lyrics, FREAKIN BACKGROUND VOCALS THAT SOUND LIKE SOFT CRYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AMAZING SONG!!!!!!!!

Perfect, really. Thank you, Prince.

ha $65 for a cassette/radio/alarm clock was no where near cheap in 84
