BINGO! As soon as fans get too personal and make an inappropriate comment, page will be taken down. Then again, it's probably set up by Warner Bros records, with statuses posted by a rep.

Call me synical....but this could be a sign he will start to gradually distance himself from 3EG.

Hopefully they will try and fully embrace it with regular informative posts, videos, and everything else.....

Or they could just use it as another place to splurt all that drivvel they do on Twitter

DFUNK

Does anybody know who manages Prince these days? It seems somebody is finally gotten through to him the importance and value of social media and an online presence for an artist in this day an age.

When Prince was at a stage where he was rejecting the internet and social media, he seemed to also hint in some interviews that he wanted to put his music out to younger generations to they too could experience "real music by real musicians" which is all very good and all, but you basically aren't going to reach music fans under the age of 35 without an online presence.

I work with teenagers in my profession and often have discussions about music with them. It saddens me that many 15 - 16 year old music lovers that I speak to love the Beatles, admire Hendrix, idolize James Brown but in many cases are completely unfamiliar with a guy named Prince.

It shouldnt be that way, when Prince is an icon and living legend of the music game. I really am hoping that Prince has finally accepted that when you are a musician Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Soundcloud etc are your friend. When used effectively, these platforms can have a huge effect on getting your music heard by people who love music. smile

I think the girls/josh probabaly had a big influence on him getting across the importance of it, but I think at the time of opening the 3EG account Kiran Sharma was still his manager, she isnt anymore I think they parted after the Hit & Run tour. Strange that she hasnt tweeted about the albums or anything so may be a little sour.

And I think with Prince, his older stuff might not always appeal to teenagers, and I doubt the fact they all thing he is a bit strange and had ribs taken out to be able to self BJ helps his appeal (even though we know its a myth haha) I'm 26 and thats what I used to get off people when I was younger off my mates lol
