redflag

From the Hitcher Music Twitter bio: "Hitcher is a company used to connect music to film studios, television networks, gaming companies, music supervisors, online content providers, and more"

Just seen this on Twitter - Seem similar to the Native Tongue deal (in terms of what the companies do)

It'd be interesting to know what this means in real terms. Does Hitcher now have the ability to sell the rights to his old music? Or does Prince still have the ability to veto certain companies. For example if Rockstar Games decided they wanted a couple of Prince songs on the next GTA game. Does Prince still have the ability to say "no I don't want my music used in that way" (given his control freak nature I'm assuming he would). But someone with more knowledge of the industry may know more about how these deals usually work.

With two of these deals announced within a week(?) of each other and both trumpeted via twitter it does seem like he could be getting ready to cash in on some of his older music.

Raspberry Sorbet anyone?

well i think 'they' would still ask 'Prince' for the usage, but Hitcher would monitor/collect the fees etc.
