Your favorite bassline?

I was listening to P radio while cleaning my apartment and got to listening to all the different instruments... Which sparked a thread..

What's your favorite bassline? So many to choose from but I'd say my #1 would be 'america' that shit is just so funky...

"Let's Work" and "DMSR" come to mind.

But the one I probably like best is the unreleased version of "Around The World In A Day".

Oh, and of course Let´s Work.

And probably half a dozen more.

I like all of these. I'd just add "The Rest of My Life". Something about that basslines gets me moving everytime I hear it.

Change it one more time..

My brain melted the first time I heard that slap-bass orgy he performed in the middle of "La La Le He He Hee". I'd give anything for an entire song with him playing bass like that.

"Chocolate" is one, even though it sounds more like Rick James than Prince to my ears. "America" is good, also, but the stand out bass line to me is "777-9311".

Then too, i must give honorable mention to BrownMark's work on the 1984 Birthday Gig versions of "17 Days" & "All Day, All Night." Ohhh, he was killin' it!

This. "Days of Wild" has a mean back end as well.

What about 'Lady Cab Driver'?

.

Good question, OP. Let me think on this one a bit.
