Dandroppedadime - There is always a way around everything if people want it enough, if they managed to find a way to lock it, they would just rip the audio into a sound recording program such as Audacity, Soundforge etc... it wouldnt be worth the hassle because if people are going to illegally share it they will always find a way.

What he may want is a label to pay him a load of cash up front for the pleasure of paying out further cash to release it esentially buying it off him with him actually still keeping ownership lol then if this happens it doesnt cut into the % he would have got from record sales. All the risk goes onto the label then without effecting him, especially if it flops.
