The ONE associated artist song you would like to hear Prince's version of.

Give us the song only, nothing else.

"Elephant Box", or any of the 1987 piano demos of what would become Ingrid Chavez's album.

Hearing Prince's version of Get It Up would be fantastic!!!

But if I could choose just one, I would say Yellow. Goddamn, I love that song.

A pristine copy of Prince's 1987 take of "Wouldn't U Love 2 Love Me?" that was released by Taja Seville.

Hey, don't deny us the opportunity to discuss this...

Some of these songs don't actually have "Prince" versions, do they? Or are we just wanting to hear one, even if there wasn't one?

I mean there's Dez's version of "Modernaire" versus Prince's "produced" version. In this case, most of us have ONLY heard "Prince's" version.

With "The Glamorous Life" -- that was originally an instrumental by Sheila that was reworked much later when the album concept came together.

I have a feeling that "Jungle Love" might be a song that Jesse originally came up with (along with input from Morris and Prince) and then produced by Prince. ??

I'd have to with...

"Girl" (April 1981) -- yeah, you could argue that this is actually "Prince's version" already, but I'd love to hear the version he shared with Morris before replacing his own lead vocals.

Never heard that before.

Yeah, it's quite a fascinating story. Ingrid's album was published in 1991, but many of the songs were recorded originally shortly after they met, back in 1987, after the cancellation of The Black Album. Prince told Ingrid to read her poems while he improvised at the piano, according to the feelings he got from Ingrid's words. Man, I'd kill to listen to that. The process resumed in 1990, but then Levi Seacer Jr. and engineer Michael Koppelman were crucial in order to finish the album, since Prince had lost much interest on the project (does this ring some bells? lol ).

The Glamorous Life was originally intended for Apollonia 6. From what I understand, Apollonia was given Prince's version to learn the vocals.

Would the original version of If A Girl Answers have Prince doing both parts of that bitchy telephone conversation? Somehow I doubt the reality of it is that awesome, but if that is the case then that would totally be my pick. biggrin

I bet it's a hybrid of a Sheila instrumental and a song Prince threw into the mix when he and Sheila were quickly wrapping up the album, completing "The Glamorous Life" album concept. Two songs in one.

Yeah but he didn't rap on those, Ingrid was, so this is a bit out of topic. You ALREADY have Prince's versions of those tracks, what u want is the demos.
