Has anyone compiled a list of the released Crystal Ball songs in chronological order of recording? I've made a playlist chronological by year, but the songs within each year are in no specific order. I'd really like to listen to the contents of the three discs this way. Can anyone help? Thanks.

The only problem with listening to the album this way is that it kicks off with Cloreen Baconskin.

Go to Princevault.com it may be some work, but you can use the A-Z song list to look up each track and take an educated guess. Some may be a little out of order, but since most of the CB tracks are 90's things, it's not too hard to do this.

It's interesting to look at it in this light. He ignored some of his most fruitful periods - 82-83, 89-90, and obviously favored the Gold Experience-era. Not a bad thing, but with 30 tracks, he could've peppered some other years in there. Oh well!

Pretty much the same track, but released in 84.

The Peach and Black review of the album actually did examine the individual songs in chronological order, at least for the tracks from the 80s. I guess you could listen to it in order to find out the correct sequence for your playlist, might take a while though! Princevault is probably your best bet, will probably be a bit laborous, and I think there might not be enough information about recording dates for you to assemble a definitive chronological order, but it's worth a shot.

I heard Tricky too, yes! But there's something more appealing to me about Cloreen Baconskin's particular mix of that soft tone but agressively played bass and the natural drums.

Great job but the version of Goodbye here isn't the one from 91, it's the reworked one from 95. Some other songs may also have been upgraded a bit after original recording date but too lazy 2 check

No joke. That 'song' has little use on any album.

offers us a work in progress gem that should never have gotten out of the vault with Cloreen Baconskin and the same people who'd have paid a fortune for getting it on a crappy sounding bootleg 5 years earlier complain that it gets an official release on a 3 CD set. I'll never understand some of y'all guys. Cloreen Baconskin was a hell of a gift to us fans, we should appreciate it, I sure do.

And, yes I admit it: I like listening to Cloreen Baconskin.... a raw unfinished song..... I like it a lot..

in staed, to me those remixes is a waste of space on Crystal Ball.... Lovesign, Loose, Pussy Control..... those aren't good, imo. I very much prefer the original versions...

I'm sure Prince understood it would not appeal to everyone and that's most likely the reason why it's placed at the end of the disc. You can either listen to iit all the way or just press stop and switch the CD.
