Just My Imagination at the Palace 1988

The Trojan Horse perfomance of Just My Imagination is better know, but I think the Palace version is at least as good. Anyone knows which guitar he's playing? He's uses the Model C guitar for the song that immediately follows it, but I guess he could have switched from the Cloud?

Speaking of the Palace 1988 concert, I have to say that the last 20 minutes of that show (Superfunkycalifragisexy & Take This Beat) are among my favorite performances ever!

The trojan version sounds like the cloud, not heard the palace version but I would guess he would use the same

I would have thought so too, but he's definately using the Model C for SuperFunky as shown in the video footage circulating. Just My Imagination was performed in the dark.

Roseland ballroom is great also. and yes, I think it is the cloud as well. for fast leads it seems to be his plank of choice.

I thought he introduced the 'Blue Angel' after all of these performances of the song?

i would have given my left nut to see one of those aftershows

any impressions you remember about that particular tune?

audience reception, band, P himself?

Actually, its one of my least favourite aftershows (it was great, but I've been to a few)

It was my first time at Koko (Camden Palace as it was then) and I ran upstairs and got the top balcony, and unless you are at the front, its a poor view. Could see very little and it was very very hot.

I remember dancing to "Six" in the space we had at the back of balcony with some lovely girl, and we couldn't even see the stage.

Prince had the blue angel and the eye t-shirt on from memory.

Scarely, that was 26 years ago this month.

Thanks! That's the kind of definite statement I was hoping for.

...

Wait a minute. Seems like you're talking about a different show. You mean the aftershow at Camden Palace in London? I'm thinking about the show at The Palace, Reseda, California.

I thought he was talking about Reseda as well. We do know that he was playing JMI on the cloud in London so it was possible that it was the same guitar.

The cloud LOOKS easier to play fast but unless someone was there we wont know for sure
