FUNNY Prince stories/Memories???

Hey everybody! I created this thread to hopefully hear some insanely funny stories involving you guys and Prince.

I have a pretty funny story that I want to share with you all.

I remember my mom had just bought Rush Hour 3 and I could not stop replaying the intro where Chris Tucker was supposed to be directing traffic but instead he was singing 'Do Me Baby' while imitating MJ's dance moves. hahahahahaha I thought and still think it is one of the most hysterical things ever.

The funny thing about this story is, I was only 13. I've always loved instruments and musical gadets so I used my microphone and some weird music program on my computer at the time. I remember it was Christmas and most of my family was over. My Great Auntie [Probably 54 at the time] heard me singing this racy song so loudly and wanted to know what the hell I was doing singing 'Do Me Baby' into my microphone. That's when I showed her the video. She cried laughing! We then gathered my 9 and 7 year old brothers in the room and formed a choir and then we sang 'Do Me Baby' together. I know how ridiculously inappropriate this story sounds but it was SOOOOO funny, especially because we messed up so many times and kept singing the song over and over again. lol It is seriously one of the greatest memories from my childhood! The rest of my family members joined in later on. It was a great Christmas!!!!!

I should also add in that this is when I truly became a Prince fan. Even though I was only 13, Prince's smooth falsetto had a strange affect on me. lol I've been fan ever since.

Very kind of you, thank you. smile

There is one more. My Great Uncle was one of the hottest DJ's in New Orleans during the 80's and he took my grandmother and great-aunt to the Saenger theater to see Prince's Purple Rain show.

My Uncle told me that his date, 'DeeDee' was being overly licentious and rubbing herself and licking her lips all over. She was trying to get Prince's attention. Every time she did it Prince came over to where they were standing LOL DeeDee was my Uncle's date but HE encouraged her to keep doing it because he too was/is a huge Prince fan. SOON ENOUGH, Prince walked over to their area again with his eyes wide and pointed at my Uncle and said "IS SHE WITH YOU." I asked my Uncle what happened when Prince did that and he said it felt like Prince looked straight through him and he just FROZE and started to rapidly shake his head NOOOO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I asked him about the crowd's reaction he said that no one really noticed it but both of his sisters [My Grandmother and Great-Aunt] were hysterical. He said that Prince didn't miss a beat so most people probably thought it was just a part in the song he was performing!

I've asked my Great-Aunt & Grandmother about it before but separately because I really didn't believe such a story. Of course 'the women' would later tell me that Prince's team approached DeeDee after the concert was over, and I suppose the rest is history.

That story was hilarious! I couldnt even imagine Prince staring through me like that. I would have freaked out.

Well here is my Do Me Baby story....

It was a Sunday morning and I had to go to church with my family. A few months before, I got a new phone and put Do Me Baby as my ringtone. Anyway, I got to church and an hour later, the service was coming to a close. The pastor told us to bow our heads in prayer. Keep in mind, the church had about 70 people in the congregation. We all bowed our heads for prayer. The pastor began..."We ask that you bless us on this day and give us strength..." All of the sudden my phone rang..."DO ME BABY, LIKE U NEVER DONE BEFORE, OOHHH GIVE IT TO ME TILL I JUST CANT TAKE NO MORE..." It was blasting loud and as I tried to scramble to sufficate the sound out of my phone, everyone started looking around to see who it was coming from. Eventually, they all noticed that it was coming from my phone. The preacher even stopped the prayer to look up at me. It was terrible. I felt like a sinner in a room full if saints. LOL.

Told this one many times but here we go again smile

.

Back in 2000 there was this girl I had a crush on, everybody was chasing her, she was hard to get. We became friends, though, and I invited her to dinner and when I tried my luck she said "let's be just friends", OK, fair enough sad We kept chatting all nite until dawn.

.

It was very special, though, that friendship between us, very intense, the "say it all" kind. The next week I invited her 4 dinner again and we chatted again all nite long and at some point in the nite we were talking sex and IDK why it came but I mentionned that in a song prince said that licking girls on the knees drove them crazy and that I found the idea amusing even though I had no clue where he'd gotten this idea. Then she looked at me straight in the eyew with a malicious look and she said: "well, why don't u try and we'll see, huh?". And I looked at her and said "really?" and she said "yeah really" and so I licked her knee and u can guess what came next... She never allowed us to be a couple, we just slept 2gether twice and that was it but hell, those 2 nights were magic and better than nothing smile

.

So basically without Dead On It who knows maybe I'd never even have touched her. I owe prince for that one, really biggrin

.

.

On a saddest note my mom died of cancer at about the same time (funny how so many big things can happen at the same time!) and her hospital room, the one she died in (I was lucky enough to be at her side the very moment she passed) was room no. 319 eek

That's so sad Databank..but what were the chances of that room number? Truly weird.

My own is pretty trivial but relates to the first time I ever became aware of Prince, back when the Syracuse Purple Rain gig was broadcast around the world. It must have been on television..I wasn't paying any attention as an eleven year old who wasn't even into music really..

My mother had been talking to me about being a success and doing well in life, and she pointed at the screen and said something like "Now there's someone who's made it big, who's done something with his life!".

A few years later, there was a media furore about devil worshipping messages in songs, if you played them backwards. Total rubbish, but someone mentioned Prince on the telly and how there were such things in his songs. My mother knew what a fan I was and started asking questions.. I was so indignant about this accusation, as Prince was a devout Christian! I had to prove it to her, so I played 'God' to her and 'The Cross' so that she was quite clear that Prince wasn't a worshipper of Satan!

I got a couple.

Back around 2004, my borther, my mom and I were all sitting in the living room upstairs. And a prince song had just came on. My brother asked my mom "Mommy why cant Prince ever finish a song w/out playing on those instruments? Its annoying.
My mom was laughing do hard afterwards. :P

Another story is (which I posted in my last thread) about me being on a dance team a few months ago. And I was trying to make up a dance routine for my group. Well to my surprise I didnt know that my grandmother was there. So I had put on Breakfest Can Wait and I started twerking to it, and if U ask me I was killing it razz
She had came in the room while I was "dancing". And she saw everything. Lol

She said "Well what kind of dance is this? I didnt know it was like that"

And afterwRds my brother told me about the importance of dancing correctly around our grandmother.

Hey Databank, you're a total dude for mentioning that knee licking drives girls crazy hahaha. Atleast she was a good sport! I'm also very sorry about your mom. <3 What are the odds of the room number being 319?

^ Thanks for the kind words Scott and Vic. To be honest my mother was a really really awful person so getting free of her presence in my life, no matter how moving it was at the time, was more a blessing than anything else. But the odds of her being in room 319 yeah it's crazy! Hell if there are such things as God sending u signs that was a hell of a good example.

.

Another funny thing was when prince released Lotusflow3r and Mplsound. I was in a very high period of my life, everything went my way and I was so totally happy, and I also was just starting to see an ex again as a friend after a long while and we obviously still had a crush on each other but for many reason I knew it would be a bad idea to go there, and "Here" got released and it was just the exact perfect song describing the situation and how I felt about it, word for word. Incidentally at this time I was also having a very strong and ambiguous friendship with another girl who I ended-up being with later on (and almost married actually), and "4ever" described my feelings just as exactly. So I was stuck between past and future and those 2 songs just came up outta nowhere telling me all about it. It was lovely but a bit odd lol

Adorecream

Those stories are hilarious and that Chris Tucker scene is truly funny. But I have one tale of my own.

.

I was about 16, it was the summer of 1992/93 (I live in the southern hemisphere), we were staying at a holiday home at a real isolated beach, no radio, no tv, one light bulb and a long drop toilet, like nothing, so we had to make our own amusement. The kids all had a talent show for the adults. I get up and start singing Cream and Gett Off and my mother is having kittens. But I do the Jamie Foxx Prince send up - Butt out Jeans and it causes one of my aunties to laugh so hard she falls off her chair and crashes through the deck. Probably sparined her leg but still laughing to "One time I poured cream all over Sheila E or was that Morris, ooeee!!!"

.

Rest of the time, the family think I am still funny because of the fact that I not only like Prince, but are still completely obsessed with him. Some people I only see every few years and they are still like "Do you still like Prince" in the first 3 questions.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
