The Camille Album!!!

I've just been looking at the track listing for the unreleased Camille album, and hot DAMN that album would have been FIERCE! eek Literally a compilation of some of my all time favourite songs.

Undoubtedley would be in my top 3 Prince albums, for sure.

1. Rebirth Of The Flesh

2. Housequake

3. Strange Relationship

4. Feel U Up

5. Shockadelica

6. Good Love

7.If I Was Your Girlfriend

8.Rockhard In A Funky Place

when you look at the music created just in the 1984-1986 period you could easily come up with 10 albums

Yes I wonder what a Camille album/era would have been like

If he was able to focus creative energy onto this concept and direction

I can imagine the tour would of been BEYOND funky. A mix between the IIWYG segment of the SOTT tour and the Bob George segment from Lovesexy cool

Rebirth of the Flesh is in an insane opener. Hard, zany, perfect rock funk mash-up.

1988 the Black Album released in an underground kinda way and Prince and band are doing shows not large concerts. Shows in small venues like 1st Avenue and a bit bigger. Smoked stage dark instruments, featuring the black cloud guitar along with the peach, black double kick drum set, black lace leather and ruffled shirts, Dr Fink in a ministers/priest black outfit & collar, aftershows at wild bars...

Sexy Dancer

Tamborine

Le Grind

Head

Superfunkicalifragisex:I would have him do a similar Superfunkicalifragisexy scene as he did in during the Lovesexy tour

13

Uptown

Boy's Club

Cindy C

Dirty Mind

Shortberry Strawcake

Rock Hard in a Funky Place

When 2 R in Love

Erotic City

Bob George:I would have him do a Bob George in a more similar fashion to the song, but with a 'living theater' feel

It

Temptation

cool cool cool

Now THAT would of been fierce. Love the black cloud guitar. I'd throw in Rebirth Of The Flesh, Shockidelica and IIWYG for good measure. I've always loved the darker (yet playful/mischievous) side of Prince that we've only had rare glimpses of. A full era of that persona would have just been out of this world.

The Camille album is much more cohesive that The Black Album.

^ I totally agree. That was more funky than the "Black Album" and if released probably his most cohesive work next to "PR","Dm" and "1999". I really like the Black Album but I think it's over rated in a sense. The best thing about the Black Album is its history and mystery.

That is definitely the biggest strength of the Camille album, the cohesiveness. Every song is completely killer and the album succintly embodies and displays all of the Prince's best qualities. There are VERY few Prince albums I can listen to all the way through but this would have certainly been one of them.

Amen..i also think the Black Album is overrated..matter of fact, OVERWANTED. The Camille album would have ranked somewhere around there with PR.

Kinda true, but not really.

.

We could say the same for SOTT.

.

What Im getting at is that ANY album released within this period wouldve been awesome.

So many songs to chose from, and it wouldve been a matter of just picking the best to come up with an album "ranked somewhere around there with PR".

wink

That is a killer album. I'm imagining a second Camille album, what would be on it? Or would it be be impossible to top the first?

I don't think the Black album is overrated, it's just rated, fans like it

the thing the Black album lacked was a full era

I tell people all the time that The Camille Album is far superior in funk when compared to the Black Album. I wish this album would get a proper release, Prince really would have gotten his funk audience back with this one. Plus all the critics would have loved this.
