I could certainly be wrong...but I have interpreted this whole "This could be us" stuff as complaining about WB. There has been notion here on the org that Prince is already unhappy with WB...and maybe rightfully so - it is strange to me that they make a nice announcement about their new relationship and the Purple Rain anniversary and a new album, etc...and absolutely nothing since.

So - is it possible that this whole "This could be us" is Prince sending a message to WB?

I find it hard to believe that 3EG are beefing about Prince...that would seem to be an immediate road out the door...I just don't imagine that Prince takes kindly to "his people" publicly complaining about him.

I could certainly be wrong...

I interpreted this as either a Prince diss against 3EG, or a 3EG diss against Prince, if they're the ones running the accounts. Either way, it doesn't look good for Plectrum Electrum...

Albums dont get released over night, especially albums that need alot of promotional work to be worth their while putting out, it isnt the 80s and Prince isnt the most important artist on there, yeah he's a superstar, but his numbers are low and he requires alot of work otherwise what use is he to them?

Prince can bitch all he wants but the industry has changed since his first time round with WB and if the relationship goes sour, it's going to be him to blame.

I made that meme and tweeted it to them in reply to the lyric they posted 2 "this could be us". I intended it as enough with the teasing and that this could be us listening 2 plectrumelectrum instead. Enough with the kiddy games and just put out the music. Don't know how they read it though.
