This artist actually knows how to paint. I don't know why Julian Lennon is sitting in the corner with a tamborine, though. LOLZ. The original looks like it was done by a 5 year ole with finger paints. The composition is better than the alternate, but it's pretty embarrasing on skill level.

In a way, Prince's first decade was like one long struggle to get him to put some clothes on. Without the bikini briefs, we would never have had the trenchcoats. By the time he finally put on a shirt, he was an international superstar.

Interestingly, by the time he took it off again for Parade, his sales dipped again and his movie flopped. After rediscovering his wardrobe closet for SOTT's critical and commercial success, he appeared buck naked on a giant flower for Lovesexy and sales plunged to an historic low.

I agree with your sentiment, but SOTT was not a huge commercial success. It was a huge critical success He did get 3 Top Ten US Singles, but actual sales were well under a million. Due to The RIAA counting Double albums as 2 units sold, it really sold half of the reported sales. Of course, not touring in the US killed him here. It basically sold a little more than Lovesexy.

Actually, RIAA didn't do the 2 units nonsense until 1992. So SOTT is safe, as it went Platinum in 1987.
