I slowed down U Got The Look... ... just 2 have an idea of how it sounded b4 . U can easily try it using Audacity (but don't share the result online!)

got mad at it and sped it up, I put it in a way that his voice sounds more or less normal, of course I guess I'll never get the exact right tempo but it gave something decent. Strangely enough it doesn't change the dynamic of the song so much: I thought it would sound weird as hell and way too slow and no, it's quite cool like that too. I've wanted 2 do that 4 about 15 years but never thought about it at the right moment, so I'm quite glad I did it at last 
Back in 1987 I had a Sony Walkman cassette player and it had a tempo setting that would adjust the pay speed faster or slower by a small amount. I remember trying it with many of the Prince tracks. I really liked changing his vocals on "Scarlet Pussy" to sound more like his normal voice, but they Sheila E sounded like a chipmunk. | |

I think it would be fun to sync up the background vocals on Forever In My Life they way it was originally intended. Just to see if the story about the studio mishap makes sense. The wooh is on the one! | |

Once heard "Love or $" playing in a record store, many years ago. I thought it was a slowed down cover version by someone, who sounded alot like Sly Stone. The store owner was really into Prince's music and told me that he had heard that Prince made himself sound like Sly on this song, when the 12" vinyl is played at the slower speed. It changed the whole dynamic of the song....very cool! It become my favorite way of listening to this track.... haven't played it like that though for awhile. |
