It appears to me that Prince uses this as leverage to keep his young posse at bay and close. Wonder what will happen when focus wanders or tour is done.

I did not imply that. I was just thinking that they would not like competition and thus would have some clauses in the PR-reissues CONtract w.r.t. P-works being released via other channels.

We'll just have to wait, the fact he's touring and playing these songs live indicates there's some interest still there by him. But you never know  She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

I love the idea of Prince flooding the market with clutter ahead of the PR release. That's the Prince I know and I'm quite sure that ultimately he will do exactly that. Probably through internet only releases, but there is nooo way Prince is going to just sit on his hands and let WB do their thing. He's got to fuck it up some how. He's likely got protoge albums ready for Hannah and one for Donna. There is probably some no talent GF holed up in an apartment somewhere waiting to unleash her lack of talent. With Josh he can go after some of that 'Bruno Mars money'. Prince already kicked off the Purple Rain anniversary by giving an interview shading The Revolution, at pretty much the worst possible time. I hope WB is truly in charge, but I won't believe it until Prince starts showing signs of being told "no". | |
