Was Prince ever referenced in Full House?

Hi all, this is my first post here smile

I've recently become addicted to Full House and one thing I've noticed is how incredibly dated it is (who wouldn't notice that? lol ), and how they reference a lot of 80s pop culture (Michael Jackson, the George Michael and Paula Abdul posters, Janet, etc...)

Have any of the characters or the setting ever referenced Prince?? Even if it was a small reference or a picture or anything, it seems odd that the show didn't ever say anything about him (from my knowledge). Interestingly, in shows like Everybody Hates Chris, there's only a very small handful of Prince references but that's another topic

Soo, anyone know any Purple references in Full House? biggrin

I hope so! It would be cool if Jesse had some sort of Prince poster from the Purple Rain days

Since it was based later though, I always expected to see some sort of "Prince is weird" joke like they've done on other 80s sitcoms ("You can't take a picture in your underwear, but apparently Prince hasn't heard that")

They made a joke making fun of MJ once I believe

Yeah it was from Friends smile

Perhaps Prince was just another pop star amongst several others who DIDN'T get referenced. it was very family-oriented

Having watched just about every episode during its initial run and now watching the reruns with the 9 and 12 year old I can say categorically that Prince was never, ever mentioned. Lots of Beach Boys references though. And the other night, there was a subplot about how REM was going to play at Uncle Jessie's new club but it wasn't really REM it was these three old Triplets whose names started with R and E and M.

Kimmy Gibbler was the Tony M of the show I know that.

All good things they say never last...

We can now safely nuke the Org from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

He, and "Let's Go Crazy," is referenced on "Family Ties." Although, Malorie ("Yo, Malorie!!") does refer to it as "Let's GET Crazy." I cringe every time. And they played "International Lover" on "Designing Women." And they talk about "casual Prince," on "Flight of the Conchords." That's all I can think of right now.

Yeah its kind of a rarity to hear him being mentioned on tv. Everytime I hear his name on tv my heart races and i squeal. My ears perk up like a german shephed and im all ears. Everyone around me looks at me like im a psycho or something but its all good, they dont understand what a rare thing it is.

UPDATE: there's an episode in which one of Jesse's band members (the keyboardist I believe) is dressed up like a doctor and someone asks why

It's a very subtle reference to The Revolution I think (ala dr. fink)
